honestly, i think black woman are so sexy and so unappreciated in almost all aspects of life; fuck fashion. but i really think this alek wek girl is ugly. why do people gwan like shes pretty? super model? thats a stretchhh.

im starting to think that there is a conspriacy going on because anytime a black girl is given major spotlight, she is always “ugly”pretty; conveying uncoventional beauty. there are a lot of sexy black girls. whats going on? are they scared that the sexy black girls with curves and swag will outshine the typical average white model?

Luv It 06/29/2010 at 9:59 AM: I think it’s because the industry was looking for at least one true depecition of a black woman who has actual black features (broad nose, big lips, round face, dark skin) Most of the black women that everyone considers to be beautiful usually don’t have all of those features, they usually have more exotic or European features. With that said, I don’t think she’s ugly.

wow, so many haters! Alek like many top runway models has a unique look. Many runway models are weird looking, in a good way, not your conventional pretty girl. Her whole get up is that she stays to her African roots! and not transformed into a Black Barbie.
