Meet Miss Haiti Sarodj Bertin

by admin on 08/17/2010 · 20 comments

That is all. Now back to work!!!

According to the AP:

The first Miss Haiti in 22 years is not the typical contestant you’d find in a beauty pageant. She is a young lawyer who speaks four languages and is happy to be able to help her country after the horrific earthquake that devastated the impoverished Caribbean nation last January.

Sarodj Bertin had a privileged childhood in Puerto Principe until age 9, when her mother, lawyer and opposition leader Mireille Durocher Bertin, was gunned down after announcing the creation of a political party that would compete with that of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide in the upcoming elections.

Her father also happens to be running for president.
She didn’t have any real competition for the title. Considering the gorgeous women they could have chosen from throughout Haiti, the ones chosen to compete with her were… no bueno. She was the clear winner.
Happy her family was able to come out of exile in time for her to compete.

Clearly you’ve never been. They may not all look exactly like that but there are a lot of gorgeous women in Haiti. Get familiar with the city of Jacmel.

She was born in Haiti. Therefore, she’s Haitian, whether or not she has Dominican blood in her does not matter. By the way, I have seen with my two eyes a lot of beauties in Haiti that looks Spanish and they were Haitians. I for one am glad she’s representing Haiti. She’s not only pretty but smart as well. Whether this is politically motivated because her mom died or her father is running for president I don’t think we should care about this.

It’s a shame that sexual comments and ignorant comments are all that are deserving to this human being. You guys are like a bunch of savage barbarians who have never seen a woman before. What about her accomplishments and talents? Are Haitians suppose to look horribly dissatisfying? Does every other race/nationality ALL have better looking people than does the Haitian community. How about you keep your ignorance and small manhood out of public blogs and keep them in the hole for which they belong. Real men see true beauty and the things that really matter. Please call me if you need a course in that area. Will the Real Men please stand up?!!!!

Bullshit she’s Haitian. She is Dominican no doubt about it. I’ve never seen any look or even resemble anything like her.

WOW you guys are crazy. she is beautiful. I am from jacmel and i am tired of people thinking that i am hispanic, I am haitian 100% and PROUD of it. I have seen many girls that look like her that are haitian. u can tell shes haitian stop with the ignorance and appreciate the fact that we finally have a miss universe after all these years. I have soft curly hair, caramel brown skin. my grand father was verrryyy dark with green eyes, grandmother lightskinned with hazel eyes. my daughter who is haitian has green eyes, curly hair and light brown skin. sooo fuckin whatt. does that make us mix, sure dont we are 1000000000%%%%%% HAIIIIITIANNNN…. accept it. we live in the island not AFRICA. Get over it. ohh another thing. i had to bring my computer to work to show this dumb black girl that there are white, black, mixed hispanic looking haitians that are infact just 100% haitian. she told me i couldnt be haitian cuz i am too light. i swear i wanted to slap her. am not even that light, geez some people just piss me off. any ways i set her straight and went about my business. HAITIAN POWER alll the way.
