Kid CuDi Covers Complex Magazine, Talks Wale & Drug Use

by admin on 09/17/2010 · 44 comments

Complex magazine’s cover game on 10 as usual for the latest issue where “Mr. Rager” Kid Cudi continues Kanye West’s all suits everything campaign.

You’re big on not having your music compared to anyone else’s.
Kid Cudi: Did you see that Wale interview that he just did, comparing us to sports? Let me clear this up: I’m incomparable to anybody. I don’t care how people take that. No one can compete with me. I’m unfuckwittable; no one can knock me off my shit. I’m an unstoppable force, I’m a bullet. My trajectory is to the sky. Niggas got to do something really spectacular to fuck with me and my realm, and niggas be so bitter that you hear it in their voice.

Speaking of Wale, when you hit that fan at your show last December, he came out with a line about it ["Throwin' 'round wallets like the dude that Kid Cudi hit," from "Thank You Freestyle"].

Kid Cudi: It wasn’t a shot, it’s just a simple-ass rhyme by a simple-ass rapper. You can’t let that shit faze you. That’s one of those raps that just shows the world that you wack. Why would you even use that as a metaphor? Everybody think they Hov. Niggas ain’t got the magic like they think they do; there’s only a couple of wizards in this game. I’m a wizard and I know it.

How heavy did the drug use get?
Kid Cudi: I started doing cocaine to get through interviews, ’cause people wanted to know a lot about my personal life and I wasn’t prepared for a 60 Minutes interview every time. Doing bumps I was able to get through the day, but then I would smoke weed to calm me down—it was the only way I could get through the day without people noticing I was doing it.

So it’s safe to say Drake and Kid Cudi won.  EASY.

I’m a HUGE fan of Cudi and Wale. They need to chill with all that back and forth though. I hope he leaves the drugs alone too.

Didn’t know he had such bitter emotions towards Wale. I’m still to “Is There Any Love?” & “Look Up In Da Stars” both feat. Wale and on Scott’s own Mixtapes… wonder we’re the friction came from….

It looks like Cudi has inherited Kanye’s arrogance. “Let’s have a toast for the doucebags…”

“I’m unfuckwittable” – Kid Cudi

ha! didn’t Wale coin that word in “TV in the Radio” ft. K’Naan? that’s what I thought. and obviously the cocaine and Kanye west’s douchery have too much influence on this kilt wearing crackhead. My dude I’m not gonna hate, you’re a good musician. But so is Wale, so if he stepped on your toes, yall can find a better way to settle this than through interviews. If you don’t fuck with him “musically”, why do you have him on your mixtape…ON TWO TRACKS? sounds to me you do fuck with him…on several occasions with him opening for you. Grow up and get up outta under Kanye West.

Drugs can change a persons personality & life. I hope Cudi doesn’t let that shit ruin him and his relationships. Cause I know from experience that coke is not an easy drug to get off of and you usally don’t see it’s many negative afftects until after the fact.

Product of Kanye West.

Still, Hip-Hop is a big headed genre in the first place. I could write a paper about how there is no way anybody could be exactly the as when he started with the fame power Cudder is acquiring

Keep blowing your money away on coke & weed.

Pursuit of Happiness by Cudi was not appreciated by the American audience because in all honesty you guys have no culture. This country, US of A, is great like gigantic new born baby but you have no culture!!!!!!

That one song trumps every Wale song. Rhymes are rhymes, a lot of guys have great rhymes but songs are songs, meanings are meanings.

That song was so pure that i believe Cudi is unfuckawittable…or whatever he said haha.

Wenzel Dashington 09/17/2010 at 7:43 PM

It wasn’t received THAT poorly (100k the first dropping with Jigga) so GO on with that. Hip Hop is a culture…a baby culture at that. (in music years) from the US of A.

No culture? No sweetie, it’s more like no tolerance for a corny arrogant asshole named Cudi who has an exaggerated view of his self worth.

Often the art takes a separate route to the artist and usually because a masterpiece can inflate an ego.

Pursuit of happiness or any of kanyes 808 album songs were panned by fans in America. Tight jeans, deep song = he must be gay or whatever, thats the bullshit i heard and saw in the US of A.

Dont judge a person on an interview, especially an interview where he gets riled by a journalist. When people dont respect you, insecurity forces boasts to redirect you from the weakness.

Reply

Wenzel Dashington 09/19/2010 at 5:11 PM

With that said, it still reached #4 and #1 on the US charts respectively. has nothing to do with culture. People just don’t fuck wit Cudi like that yet. And if you didn’t notice, there is a whole skinny jeans movement… so it has nothing to do with culture. which was my point. I don’t think people are just judging on this interview but of his erratic behavior as of late.

Agreed Wenzel. @BD: I know you are trying to support Kid Cudi in this issue and that’s great because maybe it was a twisted interview that brought out the worst. “insecurity forces boasts to redirect you from weakness,” we get it euro blogger. The one thing we don’t get is your persistent need to bash the “US of A” for no reason. Tight jeans deep song=gay….you serious? Obviously you hung around the small majority of Americans just as ignorant as your self.
