Southwest Airlines Set To Buy AirTran For $1.4 Billion!

According To USA Today:

-UPDATE (8:36 a.m. ET): Southwest will buy AirTran for $1.4 billion in a cash-and-stock deal, a move that will consolidate the nation’s two leading low-cost carriers.

With the deal, Southwest would be able to to add or expand service in in key markets, such as Atlanta, Washington Reagan National, New York LaGuardia and Boston.

Will you miss AirTran LIFERS???

Not one bit! This is awemazing. AirTran was awful, Southwest has always been great. This will do wonders for my travel life! haha

As Jim Gaffigan said on twitter today – Hey Southwest, I think you’re over paying by like 1.4 billion.
