in the english language there are many things that are logical such as someone who has a phd is a doctor, however when you are sick on a plane and someone yells out, “is there a doctor on board??” the phd doesnt jump up and say “I”. when someone is referring to a giraffe the first thing that comes to mind isnt my my my those giraffes legs are long, although it is logically correct. if you want to get technical go ahead however saying “i didnt know she was part ostrich” would have been more easily recognizable that he was speaking about legs… instead of having to google anything.
