This story looks like it will get ugly, cops are claiming they were almost ran over by the students car while others are saying the officers just opened fire on the two kids. According to the news report:
New York state police have joined the investigation into the killing of a Pace University football player by officers outside a suburban bar. The student, Danroy Henry, 20, of Easton, Mass., was allegedly trying to speed away from the scene as police arrived and was shot at by two police officers — one was standing in the way of his car and the other was clinging to the hood. During the incident, two police officers sustained minor injuries and Henry’s front-seat passenger suffered a minor gunshot wound.
According to a Mount Pleasant police news release, several Mount Pleasant town and Pleasantville, N.Y., village police officers responded at around 1:20 a.m. to a disturbance at a bar at a corner of a strip mall that is a short drive from Pace’s campus.
Pace freshman Kelly Van Wort said she was leaving the bar with friends when she heard what she said sounded like four gunshots. “I don’t know why they shot him at all,” she said. “I figure when cops shoot at somebody, there’s a reason for it, like to get somebody to back off. But to shoot him four times, that’s a little unnecessary. … Someone told me he hit one of the cops. I don’t think someone deserves to die for that.”
We hear that this is the first time police officers in New York’s Westchester county had shot at someone in over 20 years.

I don’t know if i buy the cop on the windshield shit. One says he hit the cop, the other says the cop was clinging onto the windshield on some some movie shit…yea ok.

@ Msnina- your so right on…there in lies the problem ,if white young men were killed by the police at the rate young black men are this country would be up in arms…so why isn’t that the case for black men? …African Americans only make up 15% of the populace so how is it they are the overwhelming victims of being killed by the police?…
ok if he hit a cop and was pullin off with one clinging to the damn windshield this kid isn’t too bright and did indeed deserve to be shot…its as simple as that…stop tryna make it seem like the cops are at fault…cus if it were any of yall hanging from a windshield yall would have shot as well.

No sane person would be driving a car towards a group of cops, this kid was probably drunk- this has nothing to do with racism it’s night time and someone behind the wheel of a car is driving towards you, they couldn’t tell the “race” of the wheel man as a car goes towards them. I’m sorry the kid is dead and it’s easy for me to say this since i don’t know the kid but people are much safer with a likely drunk and dangerous driver gone, any one reckless enough to drive into three cops is a danger to everyone.
people always make shit up and never know the facts, wait until investigation finishes and then talk, while they are investigating, there are going to be dozens of different stories. if he tried to hit a cop with his vehicle, deserves to be shot, if not then the cop should be in problems but if you werent present then you dont really know what really happend so stop assuming and wait for final resolution
autopsy results showed no alcohol or drugs in his body. the police reports say that the cop who knocked on the window ended up on the hood of the car—-TELL ME HOW THAT MAKES SENSE?! if you actually knew what happened you’d see that the car didn’t travel very far, and it was over in a matter of seconds. the news is completely twisting this around.
was it really necessary to shoot him 4 times through the windshield? many pace students watched their friend BLEED TO DEATH on the pavement. as the cops pointed the guns to the crowd and shouted “GET THE F*** BACK” yes there is a video taken by a student right after the shooting.
it is unjustifiable, and extremely tragic. if you don’t know what you’re talking about or even think about saying something disrespectful about DJ then just keep your mouth shut. Now what we’re left with is the tragic death of a junior college student from the football team who was a great kid. Regardless, it is a horrible situation for everyone involved so understand that people are extremely sensitive right now.
BTDT – Cop in charge says move over – second cop doesn’t hear, so bangs on the hood – contradictory messages and both cops got angry…
Lucky for us, the first cop saw the second cop and told him to get out of the way.

Here is an idea… When a cop knocks on your window you open it, not drive off putting other peoples lives at risk. Justified shooting.
If Danroy Henry wasn’t an idiot he wouldn’t have been killed. The end.
It has nothing to do with Race, it is a matter of stupidity and Danroy Henry won the stupid award that night.
