Don’t get excited chance are this isn’t coming to your neighborhood anytime soon, but a Starbucks in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle is testing a new business idea for the brand which will have them serving beer & wine after 4PM.
“This is in response to our customers telling us that they want more options for relaxing in our stores in the afternoon and evenings and reflects what we’ve learned from our “learning lab” stores (also in Seattle),” read a statement from Starbucks, “We hope to continue to learn from our experience at Olive Way and then consider bringing this concept to select stores in neighborhoods where it is relevant.”
Would you be cool using Starbucks as your late night bar or after work wind down?

the nature of business is competitive, but this does not bode well for bars an restaurants near a star bucks… are they a coffee shop or a coffee shop/bar?…am not into drinking coffee, but if i were i would spend my money with a privately owned coffee shop, big business is making harder an harder for mom an pop business to stay a float.
FAIL! Stay in your lane starbucks!
well selling alcohol is gonna justify their hours. i often wondered how starbuck did after the morning and midday rush – no one is really drinking coffee past like 3pm or so.
logistically it’s gonna be a problem because they have tons of underage customers who otherwise are in stabucks for coffee or just to chill.
i had this idea years ago. i just need moneys, shit.
now this shit is going to turn into a bar with alcoholics hanging out in there?
I guess that they’ll start serving Irish Coffees with a shot of whiskey or rum. I just might have to go try that… damn you, Starbucks — with your delicious and addictive beverages. *shakes fist*
Well it makes sense in that particular neighborhood, I say why not? Thank goodness, I’m not into coffee or beer or wine!
This is just ridiculous. I don’t care what the spin is. I used to be a loyal Starbucks customer until they CHANGED THE FRAPPUCCINO MIX. I believe that they lost too much revenue due to this drastic change so they need to turn the balance sheet from red to black by any means neccessary. Late-Night customers my A**. Starbucks used to be a place where you can lounge around; nobody is going to go into a place where winos and lushes congregate.
