No, they story just took so long to get to were it was going and it didn’t help that the two leads were just weren’t the greatest actors, to me they seemed to have little on screen chemistry which is crazy because they’re married in real life. “Cloverfield” had the same problem with the actors but at least they had cool effects to fall back on “Monster” didn’t have anything like that. I applaud the director Gareth Edwards for actually making that movie on such a tiny budget and I’ll probably give his next film a try but as Skyline is proving this weekend just because you can make a alien invasion movie for a much less then a major studio would spend doesn’t mean you should.
