MySpace’s Latest Trick? Partnering With Facebook!

by admin on 11/19/2010 · 8 comments

MySpace is pulling out all the stops thanks to it’s new leadership – the company does not want to die!  Let us know if all these new changes are going to force you to dig up the password for your old account, here’s what the companies said in a press release:

Today, Myspace announced Mashup with Facebook, a new feature that allows Myspace users to easily create a personalized stream of entertainment content. With a simple one-click set-up, the likes and interests of a user’s Facebook profile are ported over to Myspace, enabling a user’s stream to become immediately populated with the entertainment content they already love. Users also have the ability to program their own streams based on recommendations and trending topics bubbling up on Myspace, while also engaging with other fans that share the same interests and passions in music, celebrities, TV, and movies.

Mashup with Facebook is an opt-in feature that is quick and easy to set up. Users can visit Myspace.com and click on the Mashup with Facebook button to begin. In just a few simple steps, a basic Myspace profile is created and users can immediately begin building their personal profile based on information they’ve listed in their Facebook profile.

We’ll be yelling Mike Jones once again if MySpace pulls this one off.

Agree. Deleted my myspace and I’m only a skip away from deleting my fb. So over these social networks……they’re taking the socializing out of life. I’d rather see people face to face and have phone calls than “liking” status updates.

I agree with this comment. If every company, person, etc. (this can be as big or as small as you want it to be) stopped trying as soon as things started to wind down, we wouldn’t have anything essentially.

Though I think MySpace making the huge comeback they want is a stretch, I do see potential for this idea. I think they have to present it properly, and it just may work. We’ll see what the visual is like when it launches.

I agree. But I don’t see Myspace getting back on top! I don’t want to delete my page(s) for nostalgic reasons, but myspace is COMPLETELY DEAD @ this point!

Myspace will be completely dead (in the US atleast) within the next year or two. Theyve tried all the tricks but their time is long gone.

On another note.. why would you stream your facebook to myspace? Wouldnt it be better to just use facebook

This has nothing to do with myspace trying to keep alive and more to do with connecting your info from one network to the next, lol
