Attention: Twitter Is Not For Sale

by admin on 11/26/2010 · 9 comments

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone shot down rumors that his company was about to be purchased by Google and added that his focus is to build the business so he wouldn’t sell even if he was offerered $4 or $5 BILLION dollars – Google has reportedly already offered between $2.5 and $4 big B’s for in on the red hot social networking site.

Facebook first attempted to purchase Twitter for $500 million back in 2008.

I remember back 5 or 6 years ago when Microsoft offered Mark Zuckerberg something like 2 billion dollars for Facebook and he turned them down. At the time everyone thought he was nuts but he was right the company was worth more then that so who knows what Twitter could be worth 5 years from today.

@kofi I agree with you but there are more social networking sites now than then. the market will be/is flooded as it is. 5 years from now Twitter might be old news….i mean how many of us still use our blackplanet or myspace accounts. I say take the money and run. 5 billi dont sound so shabby if you ask me

TAKE THE MONEY AND RUN IS RIGHT!!!

Remember Yahoo & Microsoft two years ago.
Now they would die for Microsoft to buy that shit.

Let’s remember that these companies don’t really “produce” anything but advertising & information service or lack their of.

I would sell for half at 2.5b and retain a 51% majority shareholders stake in the company..that’s the best move he can possibly make if you ask me

I would doubt that the deal would include them still keeping 50+% of the company after receiving over $2B upfront.

I think that dude Tom from MySpace got duped because he sold it for like $500MM before it peaked. So, he probably could’ve gotten more, but what does it matter now with MySpace….out of the space, haaa.

Zuckerberg’s worth $6.9B right now. I wonder how much he has liquid though.

I believe Twitter isn’t close to peaking yet. Hopefully, it’s managed correctly & progresses.

I would sell it for a house in East Hampton, a Mandarin Hotel penthouse, Audi R8 and Nicole from the pussycat dolls.
