there are actually mathematic models for beauty and “sexiness” in women.

for the face it involves symmetry when the face is bifurcated in the vertical plane. near perfect symmetry produces greater attractiveness. then there is balance in the planes of the face – the horizontal quadrants of the forehead, eyes, nose-mouth area, and chin. unattractive people may have foreheads too big for their face, or too small a chin or too big a nose, etc. relative to the other quadrants.

modeling companies and acting talent agencies sometimes use software that is based on the above. so as far as beauty is concerned there is actual fact involved – not just opinion.

then sexiness in a woman – her sexual attractiveness is defined by bust/hip/waist ratio. this is why men can find women of a variety of sizes sexy because the ideal ratio conveys fertility – which is what sexiness is supposed to convey from an evolutionary standpoint anyway.

and then the final test that shows that beauty is a fact: babies only a few hours old can be showed different faces – and they will always stare at the attractive/symmetrical faces more. using the mathematical models mentioned above – scientists can predict with almost perfect accuracy the faces newborns will stare at. these models cross gender and race, but the faces preferred tend to be younger – not exclusively though. the reason why it’s important that the test is run on newborns is that there is no cultural bias – they have not yet been indoctrinated to prefer certain features.

so there is actual “goddamned” fact – to beauty. the guy who said “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” was probably ugly.
