It was only a matter of time as several federal agencies were involved in bringing an end to this strange tale which may finally be coming to an end, almost.
Ann Pettway turned herself in to agents in Connecticut after her “daughter” Carlina White tracked down her real birth parents and was reunited with them last week, Bridgeport, Conn., police Detective Keith Bryant tells People. Pettway was scheduled to appear in federal court in New York City on Monday to face federal kidnapping charges.
Pettway was wanted in the 1987 kidnapping of 19-day-old Carlina from a New York City hospital. Carlina was abducted by a phony nurse, and then raised in Bridgeport, under the name Nejdra Nance, by Pettway, according to authorities. Around her 16th birthday, Carlina began to believe she wasn’t Pettway’s daughter – which Pettway then allegedly admitted. Carlina found her birth mother with the help of Web sites for missing children, and DNA tests confirmed she was indeed the baby abducted in 1987.
Carlina White’s real biological father Carl says he doesn’t really care what the feds do with Ann, he just wants to know why she did it, AS DO WE ALL. This girl would have lived her whole life not really knowing who she was!

It’ll be interesting to hear why she did it, & even why she told her that she wasn’t her daughter. I feel sorry for the daughter & her parents, all that time lost nothing can make up for that.
I can’t even begin to imagine what kind of an explanation this woman is going to give. There is no rational excuse for fucking up so many lives. This deserves to be put in solitary confinement for the rest of her life with no window, no tv, no yard time, and absolutely no human interaction including phone calls or family visits.

my daughter is 3. when she was born i was in hospital geeked than a mutherfucker finna be a dad you dig. and one time a couple of hours after she was born i needed to call my mom and give her an update so i was gonna walk out of the ward. when i get to the twin automatic doors of the ward – the wouldn’t open and seemed to be locked and i heard a beeping sound.
there was a nurse walking past behind me with one of those baby incubators with a newborn in it. she was like – the whole system is set up so that whenever an incubator or one of them baby carriers goes past the door – the doors lock automatically. i wasn’t sure if it was the incubator that closed the doors or the kid’s hospital tag – but these hospitals are on it with reducing the possibility of baby ganking.
