Like all crime heads 79-year old Bernie Madoff is slowly starting to talk now that his freedom has been taken away from him after being sentenced to 150 years in prison. In a new New York Times interview, his first time speaking since 2009 Bernie says the banks knew about his Ponzi scheme but the attitude was that if he was doing something illegal they didn’t want to know.
We believe him!

Who’s surprised? I’m not. Big money will make people do almost anything.
But he’s white and so this behavior is tolerated as an intellectual crime. I’m not playing the race case but it’s true. He’s in jail…heaven compared to places he could be.
Of course the banks knew. Just like they knew about the inflated housing market, subprime loans, and other inside corruption that lined their pockets with outrageous bonuses and commissions. But that still does not excuse Madoff of his deceptive and predatory acts.
AGREE.
the banks knew. not only that, the investors knew.
we had an opportunity to get into his fund years ago and the numbers were obvious. they didn’t withstand even casual scrutiny.
i knew which is why i advised heavily against it because by then some people foresaw the credit crisis and eventual cash crunch.
the reality of it is that with no credit crisis – he doesn’t get caught.
WOW how revealing of him! Next he’ll tell us water is really wet.
Yeah, the banks totally knew this was a scheme and so did the investors. I’ve had a really hard time feeling sympathetic towards the people who lost their life’s savings because any person with a functioning brain would have questioned the validity of Madoff’s “investment revenue” claims. I mean come on, they actually thought they would recieve a 100%-200% return on their investment….even when they saw/heard the market was soft?!? REALLY? So if they lost everything, oh the fuck well. Lesson learned.
he’s 79…. I hope to just be alive by then….rich bastard got rich the crooked way….fuck it
