Who Do You Think The Economy Sucks The Most For????

by admin on 02/22/2011 · 5 comments

A new study conducted by The Washington Post, the Kaiser Family Foundation and Harvard University found that whites without a college degree are most pessimistic about the economy and the work the government is doing.  Here’s a snippet:

The deep recession has had a profound effect on virtually every segment of the country’s population. But if there is an epicenter of financial stress and frustration, it is among whites without college degrees.  By many measures, this politically sensitive group has emerged from the recession with a particularly dark view of the economy and the financial future. Whites without college degrees also are the most apt to blame Washington for the problems, and are exceedingly harsh in their judgment of the Obama administration and its economic policies.

A mere 10 percent of whites without college degrees say they are satisfied with the nation’s current economic situation. Most – 56 percent – say the country’s best days are in the past, and more, 61 percent, say it will be a long time before the economy begins to recover.  Fully 43 percent of non-college whites say “hard work and determination are no guarantees of success,” and nearly half doubt that they have enough education and skills to compete in the job market.

Stay in school!

school is starting not to matter much. its like everybody thought you go to school and get a better job, but the better job is working at the same level as the guy who didn’t bother going to school.

I have an idea as to why, but in any event I say this: care more about starting your own business than working for someone else. Everybody needs a job, but when they get it THINK about making YOUR OWN FUTURE by starting YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

You want to make it, make your own. This is what I learned after getting my degree and AFTER spending thousands of dollars in grad school >> GET YOUR OWN AND START YOUR OWN BUSINESS.

School never mattered much to these folks anyway as they don’t have college degrees. I recognize there are barriers and limitations to access for adequate education for some but something is not right about non-college educated folks claiming that success is not about hard work and it’s the policies in washington that’s got them in the position they’re in.

First of all Obama just got here! long after you decided not to go to college or pursue whatever life you want. The problem is with these people is they always expected someone else, or the good old earth, to provide for them, and now that it’s not the case they’re sitting around blaming the black man!

yes! preach!! its alot of these one industry cities like Detroit that once employed and took advantage of the non educated that are doing so poorly, once the blue collar job your working goes belly up, there goes everything for you. No health insurance, no steady income and little hope for the future as you’ve been stagnant in one lane for many years. People like to knock an education saying that the debt you acquire doesn’t necessarily lead to a better life, but last time i checked i haven’t seen any starving lawyers, doctors and engineers. And lets be hones here, the reason why these un educated whites are so anti-government is because the party their involved with ie tea part, republicans have done shit all to protect them. The conservative parties manipulate these un educated folkes because they are their base, just like the majority of people who voted for Mr. Prez were middle/upper/young EDUCATED people. lol juust my 2 cents.

I’m right now on my first semester in college but still undecided about what I want to do in my life. The reason why I go to college is to get some education and have knowledge in basic subjects such as English, Politics, etc… So in the real world I could be a man of my words and knowing that what I’m saying is right and I could back that up like an intelligent person. As far career goes, idk what I want to do. Opening a business sounds like an idea that is floating in my mind from time to time. But there is no guarantee that it will succeed. Ehhh I’ll find something in my life. It’s just that as of now I’m very lost in this world and don’t know what am I doing.

dude, stick with it, im graduating with honors next year and its hard your first year, your going from High school, which in my opinion does little to prepare your for the type of learning University brings. ie; thinking critically, using academic language when speaking/writing. But you WILL get the hang of it! You already recognize that an education is very valuable in this world, so dont be so hard on yourself, your doing the right thing :)
