Coke Is Officially More Popular Than Pepsi

by admin on 03/18/2011 · 4 comments

When it comes to syrup in a can, we’ll take either but if you’re a soda stickler you may want to know:

For as long as anyone can remember, Coke and Pepsi have run one-two in U.S. soda pop consumption.  But that’s changed now with the appearance of a new number two: Diet Coke.  Regular Coke controls a 17 percent share of the U.S. market, followed by Diet Coke at 9.9 percent and Pepsi at 9.5 percent.

Industry analysts fault Pepsi for scaling back on more product-oriented advertising and marketing, including its recent decision not to run a commercial during the Super Bowl for the first time in 23 years.

We have a hard time believing people forgot to drink a Pepsi because they didn’t have a Super Bowl commercial.  What type of cola are you drinking?  Do they taste the same?

i don’t drink cola/soda at all because it’s a ridiculously unhealthy thing to drink.

advertising is always important in commoditized market segments so their excuse is plausible. don’t these two things taste and look the same anyway?

it’s like voting for a conservative republican or a conservative republican.

the concept of choice here is an illusion when they’re probably sourcing ingredients – corn syrup, carbon dioxide, artificial flavor, and water – from the same suppliers.

This Title is Ridiculous… Coca Cola was and IS much more internationally consumed. This popularity is global.
