This is totally different from Iraq. The war of Iraq was not justified. The whole world and the people are behind the actions done against Qaddafi, even arab countries and I don’t think even Al-Qaida minds it. They do not support Qaddafi either. For the Iraq operations USA did not have support of many other countries or the support of the UN. In this operation, USA plays just a small role as most countries take part. Plus there’s no ground troops so there won’t be many or if any American casualties.
Only American casualties are important? What about innocent civilians???
Civilians are most important of course. That’s the whole reason behind this operation; protecting the civilians of LIbya against Qaddafi. No civilians have been killed by the western countries in Libya.
There haven’t been civilian casualties by Western Countries, but there has been numerous injuries. Injuries should count as well, some of those people will no longer be able to work and support their families. just my 2 cents.
So you think it’s better hundreds of thousands of people are killed than some injuries? Sure, those should be avoided but rather an injury to a few than many killed. Also, is there actually any proof any civilians have been injured by Western Countries?
if america cared so much about crimes against humanity they would have stepped in and stopped the civil war of liberia.which had people eating human hearts, cannibalism and so many other atrocious crimes. But they never lifted a finger. But as soono as iraq, afghanistan or libya have something they step in . why? because of oil. Libya is one of the worlds largest producers of oil . Last year the lockerbie bomber was released on so called ” compassionate grounds”.. the lockerbie bombings in the uk was like the 9/11 bombings in the usa. Wiki leaks showed that there was a relation with the landing of a bp oil deal in libya with the release of the lockerbie bomber. This shows that libya is very important to the west so much so that they are prepared to release someone who killed hundreds of their people . Obama did not decide to attack libya, no its something bigger than him . This is a matter of national intrest. America cannot afford to have libya in shambles. This is the stark truth. But sugar coating it with a fake motive is just wrong .
You’re either right or wrong, but you’ll never know so keep speculating…
thank you!!
which speculation?
ON ANOTHER TOTALLY DIFFERENT TOPIC…
Let me ask you this; if one of your parents (mom or dad) died in a car accident and it was determined that a billionaire’s son who was doing away over the speed limit in his father’s Koenigsegg Trevita was responsible. But the boy’s father remorsefully offers you 2.5 billion as compensation for your loss provided you don’t press charges.
Will you accept the offer (or will you rather choose revenge over common sense)?
i would choose common sense.
now back to the topic, since you don’t know about his lockerbie bomber. His name is Abdelbeset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi.
Here is a CNN report on the issue
http://articles.cnn.com/2009-08-20/world/scotland.lockerbie.bomber_1_lockerbie-victims-al-megrahi-scottish-authorities?_s=PM:WORLD
It’s funny how you couldn’t notice how cynical and sarcastic I was being…
First, the test scenario I gave just goes to show you’re greedy too, meaning if you’re in the Scottish/UK government position at the time you’d have also taken the so called “deal”.
Second, read in between the lines I was only twitting you. So forget CNN I can school you in college about the lockerbie bombing.
Third, since you insist on speculating about “facts” here goes mine:
1. I can understand if you just heard about 1988 Lockerbie bombing last year but Abdelbaset Mohmed Ali al-Megrahi wasn’t released “last year” try 8/20/2009
2. Don’t make the “compassionate grounds” sound vague and bogus. He had prostate cancer that was independently verified. And though it was claimed he had only 3 months to live, it was also know that he could live as long as 5 years, but the average expectancy of someone of his age with his condition was 18 months to 2 years.
3. There were only 3 known wikileaks cables on Megrahi; CABLE 08LONDON2673 (2008-10-24), CABLE 09TRIPOLI65 (2009-01-28) and a third CABLE that just stated “UK feared action by Libya against British interests if Megrahi died in jail. It also stated that the UK government fully supported his release by the Scot”
My point is none of these cables directly or indirectly mentioned a BP oil deal
4. If you’re somehow suggesting the US government was okay with the decision to release Megrahi, please you’re just wrong. Because it was the US that first suggested that a BP oil deal was behind the UK release and Obama has publicly condemned the release expressing “surprise, disappointment and anger” from the US over the release.
5. Keep speculating…
It’s not speculation that “American Interests” is just a euphemism for American oil dependency. Furthermore, Tazmania’s “speculations”, whether I agree with him or not, is loaded with facts. College Dropout go drop yourself off the planet for your apathy.
PS
fuck yo couch
“loaded with facts”…huh?…let’s not get into the “facts” in tazmania’s rambling…because I don’t know any lockerbie bomber, thought it was more like lockerbie bombers?
Oh well ignorance is bliss…so like i said earlier, I’ll leave y’all to keep speculating.
^ just replied that in the post above
lol..you don’t get my point.
all you have said is true. and im not disputing that. the basis of my argument is in my reply to truestory in the comment below
So what is your point Taz? Because surely you can’t realistically expect the US to step in and fight every crime against humanity in every corner of the world. We’re not God. So we protect our allies and countries with resources that are vital to our survival. Sorry to ruin your “save the world” fantasy. But it’s a harsh world out there, and not everybody can be saved by the USA.
Of course America is not God. And of course america cannot save the world. I didnt say they should .All im saying is Mr. Obama should lay the facts bare before the world. Because if he uses the humanitarian guise then it begs the question,”why that country? and not this country?”
Secondly, I used the country of liberia for a specific reason, being; The history of Liberia is unique among African nations because of its relationship with the United States. It is one of only two countries in sub-Sahara Africa, along with Ethiopia, without roots in the European Scramble for Africa. It was founded and colonized by freed American slaves with the help of a private organization called the American Colonization Society in 1821-1822, on the premise that former American slaves would have greater freedom and equality there.(sic)
THEREFORE, if america had ANY intrests in any other countries Liberia should be one of its utmost concerns due to the ties between the two countries. Take the turmoil in Ivory Coast for example, one of the main mediators was FRANCE.. why? because it was once it’s colonial master. So it has some sort of moral responsibility to that country. The same goes for belgium-congo, russia-bosnia, etc.
100% agree with Tazmania
Fuck you Obama… Tired of his shit
Fuck you too, n.igga! Fuck you too!
Lmao… Obama just had a “Nigga Moment”
Fake Fuck
ALL THIS WAR DOES FOR ME IS CONFIRM OBAMA IS DOWN WITH THEM PEOPLE AND U KNO WHO THE PEOPLE ARE…
