The twins who became famous after The Social Network movie for claims Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg stole their idea while at Harvard may have seen their last days in court against the company.  A judge has ruled that the $20 million in cash and $45 million in Facebook stock they received in a 2008 settlement will stand.  The twins big objection was that they accepted $45 million in stock when the company was valued at $15 billion and later found it was valued at only $3 billion at the time, so they felt they should have gotten more stock and ownership.  Reports the WSJ:

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. recently led a $500 million funding round in Facebook that values the Palo Alto, Calif., company at $50 billion. That gives the Winklevoss shares from the settlement a value of about $150 million.

“The courts might have obliged, had the Winklevosses not settled their dispute and signed a release of all claims against Facebook,” Judge Kozinski said. But he said he saw no reason to allow them to back out of the settlement.  The judge also noted that Facebook’s more recent $50-billion valuation is 3.33 times the value the Winklevosses claim they thought Facebook’s shares were worth at the mediation, making their deal appear “quite favorable” in light of recent market activity.
