When you’re President all of your private business is public, which is why we know that Barack and Michelle Obama bought home over three million dollars less in income than the previous year. Despite his Presidential salary of $400,000 yearly, far from his $5.5 million in earnings in 2009, this year the couple bought home $1.73 million and paid $453,770 in federal taxes or about a quarter of their income. The couple also reported donating $245,075 to 36 different charities, also far less than in 2009 when Barack donated his entire $1.4 million Nobel Peace Prize award to charities.
Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill reported $379,178 in income this year and paid $86,626 in federal taxes.

One too many zeros in that $400k. I think this is great. He’ s focused on leading not making money during his presidency like past presidents. They all used to make sure their pockets we’re getting fatter while so called leading.

I guess all the members of the Congress should be forced to show what they made and what they paid in taxes. It would be interesting to see how many of them benefit from tax breaks, or rather how many do not.
