The California N.A.A.C.P. is demanding an apology from an Orange County Republican official who sent out an e-mail picturing President Obama’s face on the body of a baby chimpanzee. In a statement Monday, the organization called on Marilyn Davenport to resign from the Orange County Republican Central Committee. The message shows an image, posed like a family portrait, of chimpanzee parents and child, with Mr. Obama’s face superimposed on the young chimp. The text reads, “Now you know why no birth certificate.” Ms. Davenport could not be reached, but she has sent friends and supporters an e-mail saying she will not resign.
Marilyn has since responded saying she’s not racist, see her email she sent to the other members of her committee after the jump.
To my fellow Americans and to everyone else who has seen this email I forwarded and was offended by my action, I humbly apologize and ask for your forgiveness of my unwise behavior. I say unwise because at the time I received and forwarded the email, I didn’t stop to think about the historic implications and other examples of how this could be offensive. I am an imperfect Christian lady who tries her best to live a Christ-like honoring life. I would never do anything to intentionally harm or berate others regardless of ethnicity. Everyone who knows me knows that to be true.

Its only racist because blacks continue to buy into the Black people are monkeys bullshit when monkeys are fucking smart as hell period. Whatever this type of this doesn’t bother me. Everything done isn’t fucking racist.
I think I agree.
On one hand, I’m pissed at whites calling blacks nigger, waving the confederate flag and doing other “racist” stuff and on the other hand I don’t give a shit. Those things don’t effect me paying my rent, car insurance or getting to work on time. On the other hand, I want to choke them for thinking they can disrespect me (or others like me).
Conclusion: It’s a fine line. Those taunts don’t really matter in the greater scheme of things, but on the flipside, if the gays/Jews/mentally impaired are disrespected….there’s HELL to pay. Kinda stumped on this one.
They do matter when they are coming from people in positions that DO affect if you can pay your rent or not.
You don’t care if a hiring manager looks at you as an animal, or below consideration?
You don’t care if you’re paid less than your counterparts who perform the same duties?
Her “unwise behavior” and the fact that she didn’t “think” lead me to believe she’s not suited to be a government official.
There’s no room in this economy for people in decision making, influential positions to be so thoughtless and unwise.

What would be funny is if she and the rest of her family came up missing the next day because President Obama sent the secret service after her.
