Barbie Has To Pay Those Bratz $88 MILLION!!!

by admin on 04/21/2011 · 0 comments

On Thursday in California a Federal Judge ruled that Mattel “acted willfully and maliciously in misappropriating MGA’s trade secrets” while trying to sabotage the highly popular Bratz doll line at toy fairs and with toy stores.  The lawsuit began six years ago when Mattel sued upstart company MGA Entertainment claiming that designer Carter Bryant was working there when the doll was created, a suit which they eventually won in 2008 and were awarded $100 million before the countersuit trial began this year.

In court the judge said the two dolls are not similar and there is plenty of room in the market for both and awarded them a nice amount while the companies chief executive Isaac Larian cried tears of joy in court.
