Airbus Unveils Images And Plans For A Transparent Airplane In The Year 2050!

by admin on 06/13/2011 · 16 comments

You are looking at the first images from Airbus’ transparent aircraft which they hope to have in use by the year 2050.  They also make note that this type of plane is not for passengers who are scare of heights – but is still a cool travel experience nevertheless.

First, business and economy cabins are replaced by zones for relaxation in the front, work in the back, and a fully-stocked bar for socialising.

Passengers will be able to see everything to the sides and in front of them. So blindfolds might be handy come take-off and landing time.

The aircraft’s walls change according to light conditions. There are holographic pop-up gaming displays and in-flight entertainment powered by the heat of passengers’ bodies.

The technology could mean travellers might even be able to read bedtime stories to their children back home.

Most of the basic technology such as moulding seats and ‘head-up displays’ already exist, but how Airbus plan to make the plant-based, transparent ‘skin’ of the plane remains a mystery.

This sh*t looks AMAZING!  Video after the jump.

Me too. 71, that is. But hey, if we’re lucky, perhaps being 71 won’t be as “old” as it is now, from the “Impending Death” angle. I mean, hey, if so much time and capitol has been poured into something as unnecessary as an invisible fuselage, and mind bogglingly advanced multi-media systems integrated into said invisible fuselage, and all the other preposterously unnecessary luxuries bound to be included into this , and other similar projects, all in the name of profit and indulgence, they MUST be confident that others have already spent far more on important, life saving research, right? Cuz we all know how much more important things like that are; we can trust the rich and powerful to ALWAYS act in our best interest, right?…
Oh DAMNIT, YOU STUPID, STUPID INVISIBLE AIRPLANE PEOPLE!!!

sure nice, but with the bar and such each person flying would have to pay a larger percentage of the total cost of the plane flying
