After 16 years on the run infamous Boston mobster Whitey Bulger and his longtime girlfriend Catherine Grieg who have been spotted around the world was finally captured after the FBI. Officials say they caught the former leader of the Irish mob and his girlfriend who were living in a rent-controlled apartment in Santa Monica where they had weapons and $800,000 by running some public service ads on television in 14 cities targeting Catherine.
At 81 Bulger has been on the FBI’s top ten most wanted list since 1995 not only because of the 19 murders they’re trying to pin to him, but partly because of his role as an informant for the FBI against the Italian mafia before eventually using the same agents to help cover up his crimes.
