Piers Morgan is responding with fire to MP Louise Mensch who said during Rupert Murdoch’s hearing today about illegal practices at his paper that Piers admitted in his book that he too had hacked phones to get stories. Piers was not having that, and Wolf Blitzer helped him get the drop on Louise, having him call in while she was on TV LIVE so he could tell her to get some balls.

piers has every right to repudiate her claims. But as a professional journalist his job is to be factual – NOT VINDICTIVE AND PUNITIVE.
He didn’t want to just repudiate her claims – as he did in his own segment. He wanted to embarrass her on television. That’s propaganda television designed to manipulate you.
it definitely doesn’t make me respect me more. Nor does it make me believe that he’s never compromised his integrity for a story – as he basically just did.

do you know what that is? it gives her permission to SPEAK FREELY – based on hearsay – to misquote something – to speak her mind WITHOUT FEAR OF REPRISAL OR SLANDER. So a politician under PP can talk shit essentially and not have to back it up the way legal and journalists need to. this is why when asked about her statement – she immediately invoked PP.
