Buckingham palace is exhibiting the Duchess of Cambridge’s $358,000 Alexander McQueen masterpiece of a wedding dress for the summer, and the Queen and Kate had a private first viewing (in front of the media, naturally) of the dress Kate wore during her marriage to Prince William in April. On seeing the headless mannequin, with veil floating above, the Queen exclaimed ‘Horrid!’ and ‘Horrible’ before adding, “it’s made to look very creepy.”
Talk about awkward, Kate sailed through and seems to be settling into her royal role with ease and style.
