Reggie Bush Will Now Be A Miami Dolphin?!

by admin on 07/28/2011 · 7 comments

Looks like the deal is pretty much done for Reggie Bush to leave the New Orleans Saints for the Miami Dolphins under a two-year contract worth $10 Million dollars according to reports.  Think Reggie will be a good fit for the Dolphins?

Will Reggie be good fit for Miami? I say yes because they run the wild cat offense and Reggie will fit better because he isn’t a true RB he doesn’t grind the ball out he is more an outside toss me the ball RB

good pay day for very low tier RB. They tried to work with his skill set in NO but realistically he’s really underperformend in the NFL.

but he has the athletic skill set to make a dangerous receiver. why no one has tried to convert him? i don’t know.

too short to be a real threat as a reciever. he can run some screens and slant passes, maybe catch a few passes in the slot but not a deep threat or wide out at all and certainly too small to be a tight end, blocking or catching.

Even in the wildcat they’ll need a killer line and this kid will still be scrambling for his life.

*desean jackson. steve smith.

that is all. reggie is bigger than them both – and desean jackson is the most dangerous deep threat in the league – and before him steve smith was.

marvin harrison made a career of it at barely six feet with no breakaway speed. hines ward is 5’11″ and is not fast – he’s not outrunning anybody. jacoby ford caught several bodies with the raiders last year in the secondary. torry holt made a career out of being a small quick nigga. tall receivers make better targets because they make inaccurate QBs look better and they can box out DBs – but they are by no means the only prototype for a no. 1 receiver.

shorter receivers with elite speed just need better offensive coordinators who are comfortable taking the top off the offense. that’s where the real money is for speed guys – that west coast dink and dunk gets little dudes murdered – wes welker (etc.). that slot shit – where you got roided out 260 lb linebackers taking shots at you is for the fucking birds.

reggie has elite speed and he’s much bigger than people give him credit for – like 6 feet 210. He’s just not tough and clearly does not like taking hits. put him on the outside where he gets to put in work against DBs and it makes him more effective but more efficient.

i think the nfl is horrible in the way they put elite athletes at that grind out every down back position – essentially wasting the dude when you can get a late round hustle/hard-work pick to do the same thing.

Okay, okay, hines ward-yes, wes welker-yes, tory holt-mid tier, but yes. Steve Smith is in another league though, without those injuries and with the right qb throwing to him he might have been the best WR ever, and still, his real strength was his route running and speed, that guy understands the game like nobody else–You really can’t put reggie bush in the same league.

As for desean jackson, I seen him do a few things on the Philly’s highlights but he’s far from the number one deep threat in the league. That said, I don’t think Reggie can move like him either.

Your comments about the slot are right, but that’s where Reggie belongs. There, and running quick short routes and outlet passes. Get a couple of yards maybe breakaway a couple times a game, but that’s it.

Also, I agree about the way they do backs but if you notice a lot of teams are moving to 2 and 3 rotating backs like the Giants did their superbowl year. That’s much better for the backs and the offense as a whole.

I for one am glad to see Reggie go from the Big Easy. He was an overhyped college RB. True he is perfect for swing passes but the minute someone puts some fire to him on a swing pass, he gets alligator arms and carries the ball like a loaf of bread. Reggie you arent Deion Sanders AND you arent the fastest player in the league, so when you get to Miami, tuck the ball away, run straight ahead, cuz you will prolly be on the kickoff team. Holla. Geaux Saints!
