Meet Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau The Ten Year Old Supermodel

by MelMaw on 08/02/2011 · 69 comments

We already know fashion is an ageist industry, but is this taking it to the extreme? At ten years old Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau, who is from the Ivory coast and was born in 2001, is being booked constantly. Granted she does look amazing, but it feels a little bit wrong.

Should the modeling industry be ashamed? Or is she the future?

“Granted she does look amazing,” -TLF

What in pedophile-toddlers-in-tiara’s hell about her looks “amazing”?

She’s a baby in heels, with a deep cleavage, J-lo styled dress on sprawled on a bed with leopard print sheets? Call this type of shit “amazing” one more time and TLF will stand for “Toddler Loving Freaks”.

“Granted she does look amazing”. ???????????? – TLF

Thank you Roosevelt, I had to repeat that. Welcome to the World of ExclusiveMess. The dudes that run this site are disgusting. Your poor taste in judgment must extend to your personal life. You high heel loving dudes need to quit publishing. The black community does not need you. You’re a disgrace and have no morals and values. TLF – you’re fired.

The modeling industry is one of the most exploitative industries in the world. This innocent child has no business playing dress up around grown folk. Who are they trying to target? TLF you should be ashamed for posting something like this and asking a stupid question. A word to the unwise, you don’t have to post everything you see. I don’t frequent this site but I was bored and you never cease to amaze me. If it ain’t women’s shoes its nonsense like this. Please stop blogging and find yourselves. You need help….

But she’s 10. This is beyond disgusting and says quite a bit about her “parents”…..who are probably 21 and 22.

Reply

JML 08/04/2011 at 8:32 AM

First off, I think this little girl should NOT be modeling. But my point is to tell you that I think your comment about the parents is ridiculous and even offensive. Her mother is actually in her 40′s (took me 1 minute on google to find that information) and, from what I have seen, the mothers of little girls in modeling and beauty pageants are usually middle aged women trying to live vicariously through their children. I am a young parent myself and I would never encourage this in my child.

Reply

Lauren 08/05/2011 at 9:57 PM

What a stupid and short-sighted comment. I’m 22 and would never allow my child to do this. EVER.

Goose 08/02/2011 at 8:57 AM

She’ll be on coke by age 12

I don’t agree with your comment. Regardless of her age her parents still manage her so NO she will not be sniffing lines at 12. I’m sure her parents are against drugs. If she ends up sniffing that is not our problem. I highly doubt it nowadays…..maybe in late 70′s and 80′s but kids are much smarter now a days…some of them don’t smoke because they have taught that………….

Reply

oakhill 08/05/2011 at 9:45 PM

And I don’t agree with yours. I think it’s really naive to say the least. Any parent who is allowing their child to be involved in the modeling industry dressed like this isn’t the type of parent that is going to know, or even care, if their child is doing lines in the back room. Your next comment relative to drug use now as compared to the 70s or 80s illustrates you have no clue what kids are doing now. Not only are they not any smarter, they experiment with stuff the kids in the 70s or 80s would have NEVER dared stick in their nose, their mouth, their lungs or their arms.

there is no problem with hiring her as a model at all.

there is a problem with the fact that our civilization in general overvalues models and their contribution – whatever that may be.

Reply

Torontostaar 08/02/2011 at 10:32 AM

Shes obviously a beautiful lilttle girl, major emphasize on little, I don’t get why her parents couldn’t wait until she’s 13? that’s a perfectly normal age to do print, or catalogue work, wait till 16 until runway and editorials. I don’t get the sexualizing of children

Reply

Eza 08/02/2011 at 11:20 AM

Take it easy people…
We are ALL hard-wired – you will be what you will be – no “ifs” about it.
It does not matter, her modeling at 10, as appose to 15, 20, or 25. The only variant is that she can “retire” at 25 instead of 35.

Reply

Fool's Gold 08/02/2011 at 2:53 PM

There’s nothing wrong with her modeling. As long as they tone the sex down until she is at an “appropriate” age (whevener that is) then let her do it!

She does look amazing. She’s a pretty little girl.

Reply

Anonymous 08/02/2011 at 10:26 PM

I don’t see anything wrong with it. It’s art. This is not the first picture of a sexualized child, and it certainly doesn’t mean pedophiles can get to her any easier.

Natalia-Alexis 08/04/2011 at 2:52 PM

In my opinion yes this is over the top for a child but no need to go around bashing the parents. Thats the problem with us Americans as a whole nothing anyone does is good enough. If she were in a gap magazine for bathing suits would the same thing be said? Its nice to know what you would do with your child be the fact is she isn’t YOUR child. Calm down with all the “pedo” comments. They could prey on simple things such as baby magazine for that. Anything so you want her to stop her life for the bad people in the world.

Reply

Latessa 08/05/2011 at 3:59 PM

Holding parents responsible for their children is not a new or foreign concept. Parents are given that responsibilty from day one to train a child in the way they should go. ANY suggestive implications regarding your child needs to be avoided. How can a parent train their daughter to be humble, unpervocative, a sense of chasity and values if they allow her to pose in such an obviously sexual manner? This tells her that it is okay to dress this way, to act in this manner. I havent even begun on the religious implications of allowing such behavior but it goes contrary to what is spoken of as a “woman” or in this case a “child of God”.
Pedo are everywhere, yes. They could get to see her in images of a Old Navy catalog, Yes. But that doesnt mean that a parent should add fuel to the fire and make it worse.
Stopping her life…? She is 10! She has no debts, no responsibilites, not a care in the word! Why, because she is a CHILD, not an ADULT. Theres is a difference. Please dont confuse the two….

To me that looks like a kid playing dress-up. Many daughters try on their mother’s makeup and dresses and shoes. My 2 year old son likes to put my high-heels on and clomp around in them; that doesn’t make him sexy…. I think it is YOUR reaction to the outfit you should be ashamed of. If you are turned on by a 10 year old girl playing dress-up and petting bunny rabbits, then you have a problem, not the girl or her mother (and if that is you, I don’t want you around MY kids when they play dress up either…) I don’t think the magazine did anything wrong, it’s not showing any parts of her that shouldn’t show, or putting her in any bad positions. She just happens to be a really beautiful girl.

Reply

Anonymous 08/05/2011 at 4:19 PM

The magazine did nothing wrong?! Are you actually serious? So you see absolutely nothing wrong with this? Has it crossed your mind that throwing a 10-year-old into the modelling world would cause a great deal of emotional issues later on? Do you not see deeper than this picture here? Can’t you imagine how much the environment she’s constantly in can influence her and force her to grow up way too soon? She has no childhood if she’s surrounded by these sex maniacs starting at this age.

One, she aint playing dress-up and petting the cute little bunnies that aren’t even real and two, I agree with Luci way at the top. Any kids I know that play “dress-up” with their mother’s old clothes, the clothes are too big as so are the shoes and their make-up just a bit off. WE aren’t turned on, but bet you a pedo would be!! You are one stupid lady!! We have another Jon-Bone’ here.

Have you guys even read the magazine? It was supposed to be young girls playing dress-up with their mothers clothes! Seriously, get some information first before you speak!

It’s her life, and I don’t mind the fact that she’s only ten years old! She wants this, so why not? And she is ten, I don’t think that she would have done this if she didn’t want to. And everybody shouldn’t be so prejudiced about the modeling industry, just because she’s a model doesn’t mean that she is taking drugs or anything like that!

Chris 08/05/2011 at 11:14 AM

This is wrong. I’m sorry but this is wrong. Kids should be treated like kids. Too many think they are equals to adults. Growing up, I had to earn my stripes into becoming a young adult. Kids seem to have nothing to strive for today. We give them grown privelages when they haven’t earned it. My parents wouldn’t allow me to look at magazines like this as a little girl because they didn’t want it to pshychologically mess with me. Too grown, too sexy and they understood how children are impressionable. I’m grateful they did that, it gave me a healthy sense of self and sexuality.

Diana 08/05/2011 at 7:17 PM

This “child” will not have a normal childhood, I’ve just seen too many of her modeling photo’s. And I too believe that drugs will enter into her life eventually one day.

I wish her the greatest success–her natural talent is extraordinary.

Appreciating the beauty is one thing, exploiting and sexualizing an innocent 10-year-old is a whole nother thing.

Beautiful KID!!! without a doubt. These pictures and poses DEPLORABLE! What parent would OK this??? Nothing wrong with child models (see Pottery Barn Kids, etc.) kids that look like KIDS! She’s 10 – doesn’t need an ounce of makeup that’s the beauty of children – naturally gorgeous! The poses, the “cleavage”, etc. etc. This is just wrong no matter how you slice it. These parents are pimping out their daughter. And to Michelle – this is not your kid playing dressup! Does your child look like this playing “dress up”?? Please…. You are really stretching that comparison. My 6 yr old daughter is gorgeous and frankly could be a model. There is no way in hell that I would EVER condone someone wanting to make her up and photograph her like this. I would take her by the hand and walk the hell out.

Reply

Julianna 08/05/2011 at 5:42 PM

We don’t know this little girl, her family or how they are handling her upbringing. I personally think the photographs are beautiful. I have two daughters who love to wear makeup, high heels, etc. They just don’t end up looking like that! The truth is she is an extraordinarily gorgeous girl and she has been given an amazing opportunity. Let her parents decide what is right for her and her family. It’s not up to a bunch of judementmal Americans to decide for them.

Reply

Wanda 08/05/2011 at 7:48 PM

i been reading all these comments good and bad, one thing is that everyone agreed is the fact that she is alittle girl. she could model children clothes and as her age progresses she can model teen clothes and so on. you reap what you swoer. it is all about money no matter who get hurt at the end. 80% of humanity has lost their values, everything that shine is not a blink, blink. Is to bad at the age of ten people are already smearing her name, and the little one blameless, that’s heart breaking. there’s a beauty in the innocent , why do mankind like to damage things.if physically they through her out there, i pray they also prepare her mentally when the time is up, and the next hottie comes along at the age of 8, because if ten is ok now what it will be tomorrow? i mean well, at the end they are the ones who have to live with their decisions and the outcome.

Reply

Brian 08/05/2011 at 9:20 PM

I agree, that the photos of this young lady is beautiful. Should she be modeling like the above photo? If it is done tastefully, then yes.

If you question the thought of this girl modelling as above, then should we allow the Tikes and Tiara’s to perpetuate in the media?

That is the exploitive item.

Will this fuel the pedophiles? most certainly. Do we need to anything to fuel the pedophiles of the world? No. they don’t need our help, and this will not make a difference.

Reply

Amy 08/05/2011 at 10:31 PM

I’m sorry Julianna but we are a “bunch of judgmental Americans”? What? For believing that a 10 yr old girl should not be made to look like/appear much older than her years AND be put into a situation that has her in provacative poses and partially nude??! Really? Anyone of sound mind would have a problem with the photos. I’ve seen pics of her without all this makeup, etc. Just regular modeling shots as a very young girl, no makeup, black/white photos and they were beautiful and she looked her age! Regarding the above comment regarding Toddlers & Tiaras: don’t even get me started on those pageant parents! I’m for kids being kids as long as they can and us parents protecting them as long as possible. The modeling world starts them out young because you are “gasp!” old at 25! But as parents, it’s our job to protect them not feed into it. Her parents are responsible for her ultimately: so they are to be questioned regarding their lousy judgment. If that makes me or others “judgmental” in your eyes, so be it!

Reply

Amy 08/05/2011 at 10:38 PM

To Craig, you are obviously NOT a parent…. her ability to “connect” with the camera and her “degree and level of professionalism”. Seriously, how do you know any of this??? Everyone appreciates her beauty, that’s not in question. It’s the fact that they are dressing her up and making her up to look like someone twice her age. NOT OK. I wish her health and happiness just like any other child…. I hope her parents become more responsible with the direction they take with her career in the future.

People need to stop being so perverted and sick in the mind. The narrowminded and nosy people need to worry about their own kids, not someone else’s.This is a little girl, she looks like a little girl and is absolutely stunning for a little girl. This is how she looks!! On the street or in photos, this girl is gorgeous. This face is stunning and unique and that is why she is modelling! How can you be so narrow minded to think people made her look like this? Granted,i do not like the Vogue photos,i do feel they are inappropriate but all the other photos of her are gorgeous!!and she looks like a little girl.Being a model at this age is not going to automatically warp her or her childhood!!Only people who know nothing about the industry could say something like that! Brooke Shields started young, and she didnt become a drug addict nor ruin her life. If this girl didnt want to do the job,she wouldnt.Simple! No child is going to be a model if they are uncomfortable or unhappy,it will show through in photos and people would see it.For her she is probably having a blast dressing up and getting her picture taken. Then getting money ontop of it??!!How exciting for her!She can continue or shell find something else to do when shes older and be able to afford to do it!If you think she is “sexy looking” then your the one with a sick mind.Shes a beautiful little girl and looks like it.Who are you(outraged busybodies) to deny this girl something she obviously likes to do and is not hurting anyone else nor herself. She has parents,go worry about what your kids are doing running around the streets after school.

To all the people saying how their child dresses up and doesnt look like that..Well no kidding!! LOOK at hre face! AMAZING!!Very few children look like this. This little girl has an an extraordinary look. One in a million, and this is why she is modelling. This is why she is getting such publicity. i say good for her. She obviously enjoys it and has a natural talent for the camera. The moment she doesnt want to do it anymore, she will stop. Its very hard to make a child do something they dont want to. Shes a natural beauty and is probably having the time of her life. Her parents,Im sure, can manage to raise their child without all the judgmental people sticking their noses into her life.she has something unbelievably unique right now,and her parents decided to let her take this opportunity.maybe she wont be as striking in 10 years. So why not?If anything, this can teach her confidence and how to stand up for herself, plus give her money for school or another business in the future. These photos are for girls and womens magazines, not for mens magazines!! What a ridiculous comment that is.and definately not for pedophiles! geez! We cannot keep our children locked in a box for fear of pedophiles anyways. This girl will have all kinds of people watching out for her well being, keeping the creeps away.People who dont know anything about the fashion business are the same screaming about her being sexualized for pedophiles. utter garbage!! Last i checked, schools and kids now are nothing like they were 30 years ago.Kids now know more than we did.No one has the right to stick their noses into this families life the way they are. What one person finds acceptable, another doesnt. That is the way life is.most people have no idea what happens in the fashion industry so they assume the worst. You know what they say about ASS ume??? I wish this girl good luck, and i hope all her wishes and dreams come true!! and to me..she looks like a little angel..a beautiful sweet little angel who has a bunch of ignorant judjemental people trying to decide what she should and should not do based on their own narrow-minded ideas. Shame on you!Get your mind out of the gutter

You have some point in her being special now. But for what reason can’t see model for children’s things. Why would you let a child advertise for products for matured women that desire to be loved by men? There is a reason why children develop their secundary gender characteristics when they mature!!

How is a little girl sitting on a sofa with 2 bunnies sexy? I dont think sexy when i look at this picture. If you do then your the one with a problem. Her face is older than a regular childs. Its her features that all these people are freaking out about. She not doing anything different than any other kid in this picture, she just has on mommies gold dress and her hair up. . Ive seen many of her photos and her face is incredibly beautiful. Its almost the face of a grown woman in a way, and that is probably part of her uniqueness. but anyone that is not sick mentally knows shes a child and looks at her as a child.(although a very beautiful one.)
Its the sexually repressed,PERVERTS that look at her and think she is being sexualized. The two do not go hand in hand in my mind.im not a pervert and i look at her and see a child.period.Good for her.Must be so much fun for her.
