Jay-Z And Kanye West’s “Watch The Throne” Album Sets iTunes Sales Record!

by admin on 08/15/2011 · 30 comments

The music is fantastic and so is the sales story – with Watch The Throne becoming the highest selling iTunes album in history beating out Coldplay with about 290,000 digital album sales it’s first week out.  We’re sure Jay-Z and Kanye West are somewhere celebrating with a glass of champagne.  Be on the look out this week for the album to top the Billboard 200 charts too with physical sales as well.

Are you still bumping the album?

I have surpassed “bumping the album” and am now approaching lyrical memorization phase.

I wonder how many refunds they had to give because of issue with #13? I know I got my copy for free… thanks Apple!

u must be young, people keep talkin about how track 13 starts late.
i’ve been HUGEEEE jay fan since 95 when he came to hampton university and my dad took me to see him, the crowd actually boo’d jay cause he was throwing dollar bills at the crowd ahahahahaha. im getting sidetracked

anyway, alot of jay-z albums contain “hidden tracks” starting back wit in my lifetime vol 3. usually track 12 would be like 12 mins but since it was a deluxe album, he couldnt put the bonus tracks on track 12..

hope this helps people cause im sick of people bitching about “track 13 issues”

ohhhhh almost forgot….. YOU ARE NOW WATCHING THE THRONE /_\

Hot album, but i Must say it is a kanye album feat jay z, almost every track kanye dominates, and the album itself is produced in pure kanye style…it just feels like jay is making a heavy guest appearence on WTt

This numbers are amazing. Remember GaGa sold 440,000 digital copies first week on Amazon MP3 but that was 99 cents….

I am such a huge Jay and Ye fan, but I dont like the album. Actually every time I listen, it blows my high. The beats are fantastic but they sound like they would be better suited for a R&B singer or soulful rocker. My two cents.

Personally I think the first single came out way too soon, and I would of made Nigga’s in Paris the opening single then HAM and then Otis…

I’m just saying…HAM didn’t get the air play it deserved, it released in January 2011 and we didn’t hear anything else until August 2011….I didn’t like that gap

hov said they scrapped the original album and redid it from scratch. that probably explains the delay.

on the other hand – when is WTT-alpha gonna leak? you figure between these two even the throwaway tracks can’t be that bad.

To the people who put this album or any hip hop album in a rock or r&b or any genre don’t know the real meaning of hip hop.Hip Hop is a melding of ALL MUSIC.So if I hear any of those beats wether if Rock,R&B,Soul, etc. That’s just great HIP HOP and not just a DJ with a Beatmake!!!This Album is def. A CLASSIC!!!!And that “Bubble Bath Line Killed it”That shit is double DOPE!!!
