The statement was based on sales and if you go by that, no one is surprised that Eminem is number one he his the best selling hiphop artist of all time, second maybe to a deceased Tupac, but it sales recent sales too. looks like their last album.

Actually the president is not elected by who wins the most votes. If that was the case, GWB would have never been president. The winner goes to who gets the most commitments from the electoral college so you can win fewer votes but win in more populous states and win.

Rap is a form of vocals. You have someone rapping on a dance track i.e. Flo Riday, but that is not hip hop.
