Sad news in the snack world this weekend, Arch West the 97-year old former Fritos Lays executive who created the idea for Doritos while on a family vacation in San Diego and seeing fried tortilla chips, has passed away. Doritos eventually became the first national tortilla chip brand and has become one of the world’s most popular snack products.
“We are tossing Doritos chips in before they put the dirt over the urn. He’ll love it,” said Arch’s daughter Jana Hacker.
