Did You Hear About The Ohio Farmer That Released His Animals Into The Wild Before Commiting Suicide?

by admin on 10/19/2011 · 8 comments

The image pictured above is very disturbing and shows some of the 49 wild animals that were killed in Ohio after their owner let them loose before taking his own life in the early hours of the morning. Ohio officials took some of the animals to the local zoo, while the ones that they claim they couldn’t control were shot dead including tigers and lions. Check out CNN’s investigative report after the jump.

What a lousy jackass. He should’ve called a zoo to come pick all of those animals up, instead of just releasing them into civilization.

But, it also astounds me that they couldn’t find any tranquilizers anywhere to temporarily incapacitate them, until they could all be detained & relocated.

It’s truly a sad state of events.

My thoughts too. How irresponsible, if you want too kill you’re self that’s fine. But some of these poor animals didnt ask for that death.

they had tranquilizers but it’s not quite so simple.

tranquilizers work on weight and work differently on different species. multiple hits from tranquilizers might depress CNS so much that the animal dies anyway. with single hits….. they were scared that they would knock some out while others would just be groggy and still make it into the local town by the night. at nighttime – being that these are nocturnal hunters (some of them) – everybody would be at a disadvantage – and because these animals are acclimated to humans – they might be trying to get in niggas’ cribs to lay low or hunt/eat.

and having to hunt them with actual bullets at night after potentially fucking up with tranquilizers (which would agitate the animals and make them more aggressive) in the daytime would mean that you might hit people.

it was overkill to go hard on these animals – but it was the right call.

Yeah this shit has been crazy. Police gunned a lot of them down with assault rifles bc the tranquilizers didn’t work/it was too late.

Why did they have to shoot and kill the animals? They couldn’t have shot them with a sedative or something? Something that would knock them out for a while? They had to kill them???

Personally I think that the police were terrified. Shooting the animals was the easiest way to solve the problem. I don’t buy that they couldn’t sedate them. But in fairness, to let night fall with these animals loose would have been a disaster.
