Eddie Murphy Pulls Out As The Oscars Host

by admin on 11/09/2011 · 4 comments

So there are real friends in Hollywood!?  Days after the show’s producer Brett Ratner, who got Eddie to do the hosting gig, resigned over uproar from him using a gay slur Eddie Murphy has also pulled out of the show.

“I appreciate how Eddie feels about losing his creative partner, Brett Ratner, and we all wish him well,” Tom Sherak, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which puts on the Oscars, said in a statement.

The trouble all started wen Brett appeared on the Howard Stern show (of course) where he said that “rehearsing is for fags” when asked about his new movie Tower Heist.  He has since apologized.

Who, outside of the acting community, still watches the Oscars anyway?

He would’ve been the only reason why I would’ve watched it, to begin with.

Oh, well… maybe now he will consider returning to stand up, sometime in the near future. It’s been over 25 years since he’s performed on stage… surely something funny has happened in that time span that he can turn into a funny story or two.

Only watch it to copy down the movies nominated for foreign and independent. Not a fan of Hollywood.
