You’re probably not familiar with Karl Rabeder an Austrian businessman who decided at nearly 50-years old that after coming from a poor family to becoming a self made millionaire his money wasn’t making him happy.  In 2010 while on vacation with his wife in Hawaii Karl spent “all the money he could” and realized by the end of the day he was no happier, which is when he made the big decision to that find happiness he would have to give away his fortune.

Karl then sold his interior decorating business, his Audi A8, his vacation home and his raffled off the home where he lived, selling 21,999 tickets for $134 each and formed a company called MyMicroCredit which helps people in third world countries.

He now lives in the wood cabin above and survives off of $1,350 a month working as a lifestyle coach.

Could you do it???

some people really do think money is evil… but we all know the truth… people are evil.

At any rate, this is capitalism at its best. He decided what he wanted to do with his capital and it was to help others. You want to be happy? help others get to your level of comfort. Money does not buy happiness and it never did. I can give you a more comfortable life but not happiness.

Too bad though, he could had kept his business and did even MORE good with his profits/capital/savings.
