Good news today courtesy of a new report from the United Nations, there has been no significant increase in the amount of people who contract HIV since 2007. From the AP:
“There were 2.7 million new HIV infections last year, approximately the same figure as in the three previous years, said the report from UNAIDS, the joint United Nations program on HIV and AIDS. The figures largely confirm earlier findings released by the group in June.
“At the end of last year, there were about 34 million people with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. While that is a slight rise from previous years, experts say that’s due to people surviving longer. Last year, there were 1.8 million AIDS-related deaths, down from 1.9 million in 2009.”
Africa remains the continent hardest hit by AIDS.
Do you know someone with AIDS?

Africa the continent no the country
not*
if you live in a major urban area, the odds are very high that you know someone with an HIV infection – as infections are cluster-based.
it’s because of the reuse of plastic syringes in Africa. it’s so effed up I just did a report on this. once again because of greed, corporate companies and med supplies refuse to change to a more sterile practice. they actually pay poor kids who return used needles that they end up using again. educate my people educate
AIDS has always been a disease of gays. This was the world’s biggest PR stunt next to the war on drugs.
