Somewhere in a tattoo parlor Birdman is getting YOLO written on him.  After an early leak but much hype and anticipation Drake managed to sell over 600K copies of his sophomore album “Take Care” according to Billboard.  Only Lil Wayne (964,000) and Lady Gaga (1.1 million) have sold more this year.

Did you buy it?  What’s your favorite song??  Find out one of our picks after the jump…

Luvs it! Its a shame when a rapper is responsible for bringing SOUL back to music. Thanks Drake.

Nice work Drake. Over My Dead Body, Crew Love F/The Weeknd and Lord Knows F/Rick Ross go hard.

Of his hardest tracks on the album he is either flying solo or featuring someone outside of the Young Money camp. I wish he would branch out more. When he collabs with his team it seems like he holds back or some shit. Oh, and please, no more RiRi duet collabs on your album.

Though I congratulate on this accomplishment, the real person Drake needs to thank is Birdman for buy YM albums once again. Soon the real will be exposed. Not hating, just saying.

Provide proof that Birdman is doing that, or shut the hell up. If he were doing that, then why didn’t Drake sell a million or better? Why not make his album platinum in a week, too? If he had only sold 2 copies, would you still be saying the same thing? You sound really stupid right now… hater.

Maybe my expectations for Drake are too high. I found this effort to be Underwhelming. But i do like, Over my Dead Body, Lord Knows, Crew Love, Look what youve done. Basically, anything where his sub-par song writing skills aren’t on display.

Now i expect some one to call me a hater….

Sure it would’ve been better if he sold a mil. first week, platinum in 2 weeks ain’t bad either.

Love the album!!! However, I wish he wouldnt do anymore callabos w/niki. I can stand the ri ri callab. It was pretty cool. I just hate the fact he has to have niki or wayne on his album period. I understand the politics of it all but damn. I agree with the above statement. I too wish Drake would branch out more. I feel he still has a lot more to share but he’s holding back afraid to outshine his labelmates. With all that being said- In my opinion ‘Too Far Gone’ still reign supreme. It holds a lot more depth and soul. Just my opinion. Thanks Drake for your body of work thus far. Its what I play every morning while getting ready for my day.

I guarantee if he ventures outside his ymcmb camp his album would have been phenomenon. otherwise its still a great piece of work.

This album make niggas soft like powder. Any dude having Take Care on blast shouldn’t be considered tough or as someone who could actually cause any harm.

I hope being considered tough and being someone who people thinks could cause them harm gets you far in life.

Too much singing and too little rapping! Atleast make a double disc of all the soft ish and then give the hip hop lover what they want. But I guess u can’t please everybody! Still a drake fan thou!

I agree. As much as I like Drake, I really want him to come out with an actual rap album.
