by admin on 02/07/2012 · 6 comments

Time to start working on some new hustles! Futurist Thomas Frey who is one of the world’s most recognized trend spotters says that thanks to technology people will lose 2 billion jobs in the next 18 years. Thomas goes into detail on his blog, but in short the power industry will take a big hit, cars will be self driven ridding us of all drivers, education will move more online making teachers extinct, 3-d printers will be able to print products like shoes that have to be purchased today and bots will replace soldiers and other manual labor jobs.

he’s not wrong on any of these predictions except for the time frame.

this is where first world inertia works for us – it’ll take longer to manifest because humans will fight it the whole way.

the nanny state is coming – but it’s not under the thumb of government – but under the thumb of machines.

Look how much technology has changed in the last 5 years. You take it for granted because it’s just there and as soon as it changes its on to the next like nothing. But just think back 5-7 years ago where we were. Youtube just started in 2005. It feels like it has been around forever, but it’s still pretty new.
