Oreo recently posted this picture on their Facebook page showing their support for gay pride. This has caused a bit of controversy and even has some Facebook users boycotting the cookie. The photo now has about 203 thousand ‘Likes’ and over 31thousand comments. What do you think about Oreo’s public showing of gay pride? Is this a risky move or should more companies open up to the gay and lesbian community?

Whether you’re for or against homosexuality, it’s pretty clear that we’re currently in the middle of a shift in public opinion. No self respecting money-hungry company would make a move like this if they knew it wouldn’t fill their coffers. Like it or not, gay is just about officially okay. This argument is now over.
Well…. it’s probably not. But it’s just about as useful as arguing that all black people should go back to Africa. They’re not going anywhere and you can’t really do anything about it, unless you really enjoy prison and/or the death penalty. Just let it go and move on with your lives. Make a few porcelain Jesus figurines or something. Clean up a city street. Go to a play. You know, stuff that builds more character than flaming on the interwebs.
