While riding in a cab during New York Fashion Week with an “openly gay model” Paris Hilton was secretly recorded talking to her friend about Grindr a popular app which is an all-male location based network used to hook up. After her friend explains to her how the service works Paris can be heard saying, “Ewww! Gay guys are the horniest people in the world…they’re disgusting, dude, most of them probably have AIDS. I would be so scared if I were a gay guy. You’ll like, die of AIDS.”
The socialite has since apologized in a statement you can read a portion of after the jump. Now, imagine if every conversation you had in the backseat of a cab was recorded and broadcast for the world to hear, then tell us what you think of this.
“The conversation became heated, after a close gay friend told her in a cab ride, a story about a gay man who has AIDS and is knowingly having unprotected sex. He also discussed a website that encourages random sex by gay men with strangers. As she was being shown the website, her comments were in reference to those people promoting themselves on the site.”

I know 5 people who’ve had HIV….NONE of them are gay. They all got it through heterosexual intercourse.

the people most at risk to get hiv sexually are gay men and women. healthy heterosexual men not engaging in anal sex are likely the lowest risk for infection through sex.
in black people in particular the vector for hiv is from bisexual (closeted) male to female and male to male (particularly being the “receptive” partner – if this wasn’t obvious). this is compounded by the prison population and the fact that the system is in denial about sex in prison and a refusal to provide protection (and testing) to the incarcerated. these men leave prison and resume hetero activity and introduce another vector.
anal sex is the most dangerous (because it’s more common than needle sharing – which is also extremely risky) risk factor and the fact that there isn’t a bigger attempt to inform people about this is frankly a huge PC push to dilute the association of hiv with gay males.
