Essence magazine salutes Olympic medalist Gabby Douglas as their Woman of The Year for the mags December 2012 issue.  Doesn’t Gabby look great?

I’m glad they still have magazines like Essence and Jet. Good look for young black women.

After all the uproar about the self hate displayed by our people after the Olympics in regards to Gabby’s hair. We then put her on a magazine cover with weave down her back. She looks beautiful on the cover.. I just found it interesting and thought it would make for good discourse.

Anyway, I really enjoyed watching her make history during the Olympics. Maybe God continue to bless her!

agreed.

that time on twitter was not our proudest moment as a people. in fact the gabby shit got so ugly that I haven’t posted much on twitter since then cuz it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

talk about airing dirty laundry.

she does look beautiful. in light of that issue it would have been awesome if essence made a bit of a political stand – but this is dope regardless.

proud of her and her undeniably historic accomplishments.
