yeah man, I know it may seem cold hearted but the man’s got a point (for those of us who are Christian)

It wasn’t God punishing anyone. We have the freedom of choice to live with or without Him.
It’s people like you who think living without Him should also mean He should still protect you (and to a certain extent He does but He is a gentleman and will not show up if He is not wanted)

so it’s you who has it both ways. you claim he doesn’t intervene and gives us freedom. but Christian dogma is filled with stories where he has intervened. are you saying those things didn’t happen? the entire bible is filled with stories of how god intervened. which one is it? does he or doesn’t he?
and 6 year olds he lets this happen to? all from another guy who is barely out of his teens who is SICK himself?
and what does living with him get you? all kids live with god and are innocent by DEFINITION.

i actually don’t want a god. not interested in it. and any god remotely like the god in any of the major monotheistic texts is by any measure a monster.

I would never worship a god that is so petty and small and unjust – that is disgusting.
God is not petty small and disgusting, and he’s not a magician and he doesn’t hijack wills. Get know him in relationship and you will see. Anyone who truly knows God in relationship is not interested in picking up a God to cause harm to another human being. God is love not a hijacker of wills
I don’t know about the idea that “because we took God out of our schools that this is why it happened” theory.
As a Christian I can tell you this: there is evil in this world and it works to pull as many people into itself as possible. There is also FREEDOM is this world. You have the ability to choose between right and wrong.
God is a gentleman and allows us the FREEDOM to choose between doing something as horrible as this or as great as standing in the way of a gunman to save 15 kids.
There are things He allows to happen (like wars, killing, rape, murder, stealing, forgery, death) and there are things He wants to happen (you to Love Him, follow a code of ethics, be a hero, help another person, be His light in this world).
The things God does not allow to happen you will NEVER SEE because He didn’t allow it to happen.
God can end all freedom if He wants. That way stuff like this can’t happen, right? But then you loose your freedom to choose.
FYI: Socialists want you to not be able to choose and they pick the choices for you. So what does that make socialism if God wants freedom to choose and gives it?

Things happen to “good/innocent” people all the time. If we remove the actions of one person and don’t think of it as evil…..then why do all villages and towns and cities get ravaged by earthquakes….just because they happen doesn’t mean God allowed it or did it on purpose. It is the Yin/Yang of life. Nothing is perfect and we all go through fucked up shit. It just is….
This site loves posting stories like this for some reason. It’s annoying.
It’s people like this that scare the shit out of me. The fact that someone can even justify an event like this with such a bullshit reason makes me sick. Rather than question whether there really is a god with all the bad things that happen in this world, they jump right to the conclusion that the person somehow deserved it. What 6/7 year old deserves to get their lives taken because we don’t discuss God in all schools. This justification literally makes me scared that someone can think so close minded
the real tragedy is that God would allow this Lanza chap to have a haircut as hideous as the mnay pics show. Like WTF ?? I’ve seen WW2 German army helmets with more style !!! The barber / stylist should be dealt with harshly, not those poor children !!
