One of the nation’s most prominent historically Black college, the all male Morehouse in Atlanta is becoming the first institution of its kind to offer a black lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered studies course through its sociology department. According to the campus’ spokesperson for SafeSpaces their gay/straight alliance Marcus Lee, here’s how the course came about with the help of Yale University professor Dr. Jafari Allen:
“He’s very interested in gender non-conformity among people of color, and I’m interested in that as well. I told him that I don’t have much direction here at Morehouse because many of the professors whose focus is on sexuality often focus on diseases, and not really cultural critique. So he recommended that he teach a class via Skype.”

I really don’t see anything wrong with Morehouse having this course. It’s a good idea and may improve their image from their previous gay bashing incident
