I really enjoy their show. Mr. Major is something else!

Threesomes and ass shots and convicted felons should NOT be the representation of Black Love. TI is a convicted felon many times over who has multiple children by various women.

FAIL!

Fact: he’s made some mistakes. But he

Personally i’ve always found Tiny to be a little hard on the eyes but I tell you this; his seemingly unwavering adoration for her makes her much more beautiful which is how I think black(or all) women should look… i.e. like they are loved. Also, and I don’t know how many, if any, of those kids were conceived during his marriage. The point is as far as I can tell, and i don’t watch the show, he seems to have a lot of love and respect for her, at least from what I hear.

…and anyway, you don’t come from where he comes and make it to where he’s made it without making some mistakes.

…oh, and shut your pie-hole…just because!

I somewhat agree here, I don’t watch the show so I can’t comment on that portion but I’ve listened to his music in it’s entirety and he’s said how she’s down to do whatever whenever he wants her to, but hey maybe that’s before they were married but Tiny is reflected more as a bottom bitch in his music than what I would consider a traditional wife

If anyone asks why we are commenting, it’s because we likely don’t believe the media should put this couple out as a representation of black love, it’s a bad example for kids coming up, I’m sure there is some other black couple(s) they could have used for the dual cover.

two things: kids? First of all Ebony skews female. Secondly, very few women under 40 read Ebony. This “magazine cover” (lol) is not influencing kids (little girls) at all.

second: I think kids are smarter than we give them credit for. In fact I know it.

I think the biggest disservice is what you’re talking about – which is trying to find a “better” or perfect (or close to it) representation of black love. That is what sets kids up to fail because they psychologically aspire to what is a façade – an unattainable goal.

as long as there isn’t a major mutually acceptable form of dysfunction (like dysfunctional drug use or domestic violence) it’s cool.

showing a real, flawed relationship is much better because it is the truth. There isn’t one kind of marriage – there are several different kinds. It’s not one size fits all – and if you need a certain type of woman or man – don’t be afraid to not settle for the things you want. IMO telling kids that marriage and relationships are what you make it is actually more empowering. relationships don’t have to be like shackles or a prison.

finally, there is another reason this relationship is empowering. number 1: TI could have his pick of women WAAAAY more attractive to be his wife (and all those women would be equally accepting of his unique terms of marriage). He chose her. The point is that he made a decision about a woman that wasn’t wholly based on aesthetics. In short, he made a progressive decision and wasn’t looking for a trophy – an object. That’s hugely empowering. And let’s not forget that she’s like 10 years older than him. All things good and interesting for those easily influenced to see.

agreed on those points.

The world is not a perfect place but he’s made an adult decision and has shown committment and a level of maturity you really don’t see much out of rappers (will smith, jay z not with standing). I’m not ready to say he is a role model to my daughter but he’s a lot closer than most people on and off TV.

I disagree, if you have a little sister, daughter etc, take them to get their hair done, Ebony/Jet/Essence will be there and I for the most part don’t think they are bad magazines for a 15 or 16 year old to read

It’s not about whether the relationship is perfect or not; but if your wife is essentially one of your jump offs, then its not the marriage role model that I would want on display

So while I get what you’re saying, I don’t agree at all and think it misses the mark completely

jumpoffs? you must have inside information on their relationship that I don’t. Maybe you’re a close friend to have that kind of factual information?

You “believe” that there is a right way and wrong way to do marriage, and that an “open” marriage is not one of them. That’s your right to impose whatever judgment you feel. I choose not to impose any judgment. “Judge not lest ye be judged” – I think that’s in the Bible.

I think the only “right” way to do marriage is the way that works for you. And if you make your marriage work – especially nowadays – then it’s commendable and worthy of admiration.

If the relationship is functional I wouldn’t hide any “marriage” from my kids: straight, gay, open, cohabitation… etc. Different people do different things. There isn’t only one path to success. That’s what freedom is – and it’s beautiful.

If people do not watch the show, but say they listen to his music, and they think they know everything….you are mistaken….1. is entertainment and the other is his real life. 2. He has been married to Tiny for a while and they blend kids from previous relationships into one household and all the kids get along(at least on camera which I tend to believe is true because kids can’t fake that stuff all the time like adults) and this feat in itself is tough….ask anyone dating or married to someone with kids….3. They are a celebrity couple and still make it work. 4. Yes he is a felon, but he did not go to jail for domestic violence, so yes he made bad decisions but does that mean he is a bad husband?

and to hahaha…..you sound real IGNORANT…saying you think a man with like 10 kids is gay with the youngest being 3 and so what if Tiny is half black and white, she considers herself black, TI is black so it is black love…..I guess you dont think Michelle and President Barack is an example of black love either? dumbass
