Deported to where? He was born in the US. Just grew up in the UK

lol, bad information… Piers Morgan was not born in the US… and is not a citizen of any kind, I watched a few of his shows during this whole thing and he frequently references his non-citizen status and describes himself as simply an immigrant who has a deep love and admiration for this country.

as loud as this guy is & annoying, he’s right on a few things. First, guns are not going anywhere is this country, it’s just not going to happen. I know there will be people to comment after this and say

“Fuck you southern Country VA Bumpkin, we are getting your guns”

It’s not gonna happen, they will pass some laws but it won’t do anything. If this makes you feel safe in the North, so be it, take all the guns away. I do fully agree with the over medicating culture here, I have waited and waited to see the medications all these shooters were on and how long they’ve been on them but it is always glanced over, which is ridiculous. We also have to changed the celebration of violence in this country, it’s our entertainment and a lot of times it’s our “comic relief”.

I like to go out and shoot at targets on trees but many people like to simulate the actual mass murder of people via war or crime on a video game, or celebrate with joy when we have the 17th remake of the TX Chainsaw Massacre and a crazy man chops up innocent people… yet, most say there is something wrong with my southern brain for target practice… ok, sure lol

EXACTLY. No one’s hunting deer with military issue firearms.

I can understand your point, especially since I don’t hunt. I “sport shoot” which seems to always be left out of the conversation… a lot of people who own these types of guns, we don’t hunt at all but that seems to be the point of reference all the time.

I have owned and used the semi-automatic rifles that tend to scare the hell out of people and again this is just a clash of cultures. I’m not saying you are from the North but I know most people who are can’t imagine the open field training/shooting facilities that I’ve been going to since a boy.

Inevitably the question will arise, “what are you training for? why aren’t you in the military?” I get that question a lot from Yankees, I simply respond “Why do you own games like GTA, ManHunter, Hitman etc and why do you watch such ultra violent movies?”… I’m not trying to take your forms of entertainment away, don’t try to take mine…

VAVA: those forms of entertainment carry vastly different consequences. Watching a violent movie or playing a violent game cannot kill (contrary to the NRA’s asinine statement). Your form of entertainment can kill, maim, and gravely hurt people. Please don’t try to equate the two.

Football can kill, maim, and gravely hurt people and that is within its proper context.

When the tools used in my form of entertainment are used out of context and used by criminals, you are correct these things can happen… but now you are equating responsible gun owners with criminals and I would ask you to “Please don’t try to equate the two.”

Its something in the air down there I guess (or the automatic gun smoke maybe?). Guess this world is fucked.

if i want to purchase bomb making material and blow things up around my estate would it be cool for me to stockpile bombs. by the guys argument in the video I should be able to own a nuclear bomb, because bombs dont kill people, people kill people. If I want to use my nuclear bomb as a side table or decoration piece why should it be anyone’s business.

Vaya, i’m not saying you should not have the right to own a gun legally but the hostility at which people defend this right is foolish. Did you notice how he dismissed the gun deaths by gangs… like that type of gun violence shouldn’t be tallied or those lives don’t count. Gun control talk really only goes mainstream when certain types of people are impacted by it.

don’t get it twisted, people are responsible for their actions but guns have enabled many actions that would not have occured without their pressense.

‘Real and responsible’ gun control is a need in this country. Access to guns is just too prevalent.

(comes down from soap box)

@zerotosixty

this is a real difference, b/c I hear this bomb example a lot and I guess growing up around weapons and especially in a high military area (Norfolk/Va Beach/Newport News), maybe I just know the laws for that reason alone. Bombs are not ok b/c they are considered weapons of mass destruction, semi-automatic guns are not considered that (fully-autos are, which is why they are banned).

His comment about gang deaths and such is valid and listen again, he’s not saying it to be dismissive of those deaths, he saying it to be dismissive of Piers’ point.

A great point you made is real and responsible gun “control”. I agree, the gun show loopholes should be closed, background checks should be done for any and every gun purchase… if you have been on certain medications within the past year or 2, you shouldn’t be allowed to own more than a revolver.

But we (in the South) notice the nuances in language, for example there are a few different arguments on the table, mainly:

- ban semi automatic weapons
- ban semi automatic rifles

While Piers continues to specifically talk about banning semi automatic rifles, people like Bloomberg (and many in the North) want to ban semi automatic weapons and he has funded many anti-gun candidates in my state (very unsuccessfully) to try and run for office. Look up how many types of pistols would be banned under Bloomberg’s proposal to ban semi-automatic weapons, while the people who protect him have those exact same weapons. The people who guard his family have the exact same weapons he wants no one else to have. Yes, we Southerners think that is nuts, when his people carry nothing but revolvers, then I will at least attempt to listen to what Bloomberg and people of his ilk have to say.

by the way everyone, thanks for the adult discussion without all the name calling and sensitivity

Guns used by criminals are not being used “out of context.” LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO

what’s the original context for guns if it isn’t to kill things? guns by their very design are used to kill things. sport guns or target practice was designed so people could get better and more efficient at killing things.

WOW. O_O

you niggas sound ridiculous. jesus fucking christ.

and it’s not your fault. it’s ours. we keep trying to have conversations and rational discussions with irrational people.

that’s foolish and crazy.

Who ever said that Obama wanted to enforce gun prohibition? What’s the problem with tracking gun sales and transactions to stop the flow of weapons getting into the hands of criminals??? Or more strict background checks.? People live in such fear that they immediately assume Obama/ Gov’t wants to take away guns. Nobody has to take your freedom. You people are so afraid that you’re giving it away and you don’t even know it.

If gun supporters still want to uphold the 2nd Amendment, which was written in 1791, then I think that the appropriate compromise would be to replace all of their guns with the one shot muskets that the people used back then.

An Assault weapons ban won’t infringe on people’s right to own a gun, didn’t the law expire in early 2000s?
Some conspiracy theorist take things too far and at the same time not far enough, like why aren’t they upset about Anwar Alaki (sp?) an American Yemeni killed by a drone. Why aren’t they screaming about Guantanamo? Why aren’t they screaming at stop and frisk in NYC?

sadly debates often end up like Alex jones v piers
