Here is an image from the upcoming Lifetime movie entitled Betty & Coretta that centers around the lives of Dr. Martin Luther King’s wife Coretta Scott-King and Malcolm X’s wife Dr. Betty Shabazz. Angela Basset plays Coretta, while MJB plays Betty Shabazz. The movie premieres on February 2nd at 8PM on Lifetime. Should be good right?

NICE! They shot parts of the movie in Montreal (Canada) and I was an extra in it (a university student) and I got a chance to see both Angela and Mary, and spoke to Mary on several occasions. One of the most down to earth individuals I have EVER met. Basset is EXTREMELY focused on set.
Lucky you! I’ve always wanted to meet Angela. She exudes that of a strong, courageous woman. And one of the very few African-American women actresses who have not compromised their values for money (or more of it, anyway).

Lifetime has been stepping up their game and introducing more black quality movies.. Loving it but why is this coming on Saturday night? It seems more like a Sunday night special movie..
Either way, I’ll be supporting my black sisters..

I am shocked that Angela Basset does not get more major film roles…she is one of the greats of our time.
Angela Basset looks great. Just looking at the picture you can tell that she is more of an actress. She seemed really into the roll at the moment the picture was taken, but I can’t be for sure. I hope it is good. Angela is a great actress. And I agree with JayRoc, she should get more rolls.
