This was the question that didn’t sit well with Tarantino. “Why are you so sure that there’s no link between enjoying movie violence and enjoying real violence?” To that he tells Krishnan Guru-Murthy – “Because I refuse your question. I’m not your slave and you’re not my master. You can’t make me dance to your tune. I’m not a monkey,” and gets a little heated. Starts around 4:30.

This movie is great… and he is absolutely correct… slavery has been watered down over the last 30 years… being in VA, these children take trips to Jamestown to see the colonial era (slaves included and I remember going as a child) a young family member of mine came back with pictures from her trip last year and they had whites and blacks playing slaves, living in the same quarters, doing the same work LOL, again Quentin is correct, the movie was wonderfully done… Bravo
A black man has approved this message.
also, let me be clear… my comment above is about the topic of slavery being dealt with in this country (not his stance on America’s violent culture, the correlation between violent entertainment & violent behavior)
Def agree.
Brilliant film-maker, total PRICK.
