In an exclusive interview with Spin, Andre 3 Stacks clears up rumors that Frank Ocean’s “Pink Matter” remix is not an Outkast collaboration.
“It’s important for me to be clear about the origins of my contributions to ‘Pink Matter’ and ‘Sorry.’
I was approached as a solo artist by both Frank Ocean & Tip. I discussed musical direction with each artist and completed my verses. It was after that when Big Boi’s name came up.
I never want to mislead our audience – I worried that some would think these were Outkast collaborations. These songs are not Outkast collaborations. I discussed this rationale with Big, Frank and T.I. and everyone agreed. That is why I was surprised to read about these remixes.
I understand that anyone can put out an unofficial remix to any song but I have an obligation to be honest with fans about what this is … and what it isn’t.”
No Outkast reunion after all???

Considering that he didn’t add a new verse to the song, I thought that it was obvious that it wasn’t an official remix/Outkast collaboration.
I’m just curious to find out what the real issue is that’s keeping Andre 3000 from collaborating with Big Boi. Seems like there’s some bad blood between them to me. More so on 3 Stacks side than Big Boi’s.
Yea, it’s disconcerting. Hopefully we find out someday, but it seems to us that it’s about the money Andre chose not to pursue 10 years ago when they were at their peak.
Maybe Big Boi wants to continue the OutKast brand & is mad Andre doesn’t…and Andre needs Big Boi’s consent (contractually) in order to be a solo artist, but Big Boi won’t agree to it?
I dunno…just guessing here.
He is feeling himself a little too much and thinks Big Boi is not on his level lyrically.
Douche!!
Ummm…Big Boi is NOT on 3000′s level lyrically!!! Never has been…never will be.
I done told ya’ll they ain’t cool!
damn that sucks
Who cares about who is on who’s level?
Thats why most groups don’t last cause its NOT about that.
Outkast was about 2 good ass rappers who complimented each other & if you are still waiting for that solo LP from Andre, keep waiting.
Some things are better as a pair.
