Five children, fourteen grandchildren and 16 great-granchildren later John and Ann Betar have now been recognized as the longest married couple in the U.S. after tying the knot on November 25, 1932. John who’s now 101, and Ann who’s 97 have this to say about spending 80 years together:

“We are very fortunate. It can be repeated and repeated. It is unconditional love and understanding. We have had that. We consider it a blessing.”
