Thanks to the research of Dr. Ranjan Batra of the University of Mississippi who was inspired by the ‘Lincoln’ movie Mississippi will finally be a slave free state on the books, abiding by the 13th amendment which reads:

“Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

When the 13th amendment was ratified in 1865 New Jersey, Delaware and Kentucky also rejected it but eventually caved in leaving Mississippi as the last to hold out.  Better late than never?

This makes me want to do bad things to the MS government. It took til 2013 to do this? You people reallllly hate black people over there ha?
      pathetic!
      but…I digress.

This does not mean anything because clearly black people have the highest occupancy rates in US prisons. As it states above, slavery is legal as long as a person is a prisoner, and with more money spent on building prisons and housing prisoners than education, black people are pipelined into prisons were they are modern day slaves. Who do you think are making the underwear that women wear? Victoria Secret outsources their work to prisoners and pay little to nothing. SLAVE LABOR.
