In an effort to bring some attention to Aruba, the tourism board has extended a free vacation to the New England Patriots who were defeated by the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI last weekend.  Here is the official statement from the board:

“We want to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work, dedication and season-long success of the team, despite their loss,” said Ronella Tjin Asjoe, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority. “We believe there is no better place to recover after a loss than Aruba. After all, we are known as ‘One Happy Island.’”

Things just keep getting worse for the captain of the Italian cruise ship which crashed this weekend, now new audio reveals that the coast guard was practically forcing him to get back on the sinking ship to no avail.  Captain Francesco Schettino is out of jail for now, but will probably be back very very soon from the looks of things, over 20 people are believed to be dead in the incident.

The North Dakota tourism board has pulled this ad promoting the state’s nightlife after some began to say it was too racy online.  This is no way to tell us you guys like to have a wild time out there, we’re going to Vegas!

While bungee jumping on the Zambesi River, on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe an Australian woman named Erin Laung Worth fell 350 feet after her bungee cord snapped and dropped her into the crocodile infested waters below. Luckily Erin was able to swim to shore, and is fine, here’s what she had to say about the traumatic incident:

“It was quite scary because a couple of times the rope actually got caught on some rocks or debris. I actually had to swim down and yank the bungee cord out of whatever it was caught on to make it to the surface.”

Not sure what to think about this! A Canadian man is admitting that he was allowed to enter the U.S. despite forgetting his passport at home since he happened to have a photo of it in his iPad.  He was also allowed to leave using the same passport image.

Do you think it’s safe for passports to go digital??  Seems pretty easy to manipulate….

Why do we see this catching on?  A Dutch airline called KLM Royal is introducing “Meet & Seat” a service which if you opt in, allows you to pick who you sit next to on a plane based on their social media profiles.  No telling what happens if you want them but they don’t want you, but would you try this?
