Dear Usher, “We Are Sorry” From the.LIFE Files

Friday, May 30th, 2008, 12:19 pm

“Ain’t nobody humpin’ around Tameka- Usher performs this morning on GMA

After we’ve been trashing his CD all week the guy goes and sells almost 500,000 copies in his first week according to early estimates. 146,000 of you picked up “Here I Am” the day it was released (Tuesday in the US).

Can you still return CD’s after you open them…just asking???

The misconception about music is, just cause you sell records doesn’t mean you have a good album. You just made alot of cheese and thats all that matters in the biz. Hype sells.

  2. $THEMAN$ Says:

Usher just doesnt seem interested in his music at this point, and he is expected to sale around 425kk to 450k. His last disc moved an astonishing 1.1 million units, he aint nowhere even close, so i dont know wether or not u would call this a smash rather, having said that these are still great numbers especially in this suffering music climate!

I just knew that “Confessions” was gonna be his best album, well atleast from what he has released. The new single, “Moving Mountains” just doesnt impress me very much at all!!!

i am sorry, the CD is just boring as hell.

  5. Play Says:

Hate is the new love! Hate on me if you want….

  6. Sticky Says:

I like the album, don’t know why everybody else is trashing it. You can’t compare it to Confessions. It takes established artist months to get the first week sales total of Confessions.

Does it matter if you guys trashed it or not? You say it like you wanted his album to fail. Usher is not a rookie and thats why he came up big whether it was good or not, you gotta give him credit for moving that many. Nobody works hard on an album and wants it to fail so you guys down talking his album wasnt a good move by you guys anyways. You guys lost some credit right there.

Don’t you people know artists buy up their own albums to boost sales. Peep the sales in week 2 there will be less than half of the first week’s sales sold!!!

  9. D mONEY Says:

Thats nothing to jump over Mary, Mariah, and Alicia all sold way more the first week . He has promoted the hell out of this album and 450,000 predicted is nowhere near 500,000 sold Lifefiles….

  10. $THEMAN$ Says:

i was thinking more like 650k to 750k for Usher, imean 425k to 450k is still good especially now, but not as impressive as it could or should be for Usher, especially after coming off of the smash superhit that was “Confessions” AND HE WONT COME ANYWHERE NEAR CLOSE TO THAT 1. I would say that this 1 will go about 4x maybe 5x platinum which is still huge. However i will say that sales does not speak for the quality of an album tho. Anyway everybody keeps talking about Mary’s sales well she aint even 2x platinum yet with such huge first weeks sales. She only did that becuz it was the last week of the holiday shopping season. She has no hits from that album, well huge ones anyway!
Usher has lost a whole lotta fans.

And Juanita thats typical like album sales after the first week usually drop off at 50 percent, well since sales are down now it would be more like 55 percent to 63 percent, somewhere in that range. For the most part the first week is usually always the biggest week because of all of the anticipation and promo leading up to it!

  11. AMBER Says:

not interested in buying ushers new album…

he has always been a slight cornball to me… but i still like dhis music…

now the dude is just a whole new person it seems since he got with old face…

i aint feelin his new attitude or new music…

maybe he can save face with a remix or soemthing… ill wait…

Every site and radio station has talked down on this cd. Being he has lost some fan base due to his constant defending his wife, I am not sure that many ppl went out to buy the albumn especially since the internet and leaks of the music can be easily accessed. We all know his ppl bought the cds or he himself. lol.
