Who! Who! Who! Who! Arsenio Hall is back in the media thanks to his great performance this season on Donald Trump’s longstanding reality show. The former talk show host beat out Clay Aiken in a contest to create a variety show and produce a charity ad, raising $250,000 for the charity he was playing for, The Magic Johnson Foundation.  Here’s what Arsenio said before he won the big prize:

“Every chance I get, I always let people know how I got here. I’ve been taking care of my son for awhile, and I’m about to re-emerge and get a late-night talk show. The most important aspect to that statement is there are people out there like Joan Rivers and Piers Morgan — all of their success shines a light on the banner that you gave them — and I’ll be out there too, giving it 100% percent fighting. I’m a guy that’s been on the cover of Time Magazine and Rolling Stone, but not only that, I’ve been on the cover of The Wall Street Journal. I have lived the life of The Apprentice, I just need the title now.”

Rumors are already circulating several networks are vying to have Arsenio host a new show.

According to some research done by the folks at TheKnot.com the average total cost of a wedding is now $27,000 – the venue and food account for 45% of the cost. Is this enough for you to have the wedding of your dreams?

Usher is currently in court fighting against his ex-wife Tameka Foster for increased visitation rights of their two kids and today things got ugly when he revealed she once tried to hit one of his girlfriends in his car, but eventually settled for throwing a plate of food at them. On her side Tameka Foster’s lawyers pressured Usher about potential drug use and got him to break down by suggesting he would rather be in the club than with his kids.

While giving a speech to new graduates at Boston University after receiving an honorary degree on Sunday, Google’s Executive Chairman encouraged kids to turn off their devices for at least one hour each day.  Here’s a snippet:

“Take one hour a day and turn that thing off…Take your eyes off that screen and look into the eyes of the person you love. Have a conversation, a real conversation.  Some of you are probably tweeting this speech right now.”

Schmidt also spent a great deal of his speech talking about the benefits of always being connected on the internet.  Just take a break sometimes!

This story has been floating around many years now, but it’s new news to us.  In his biography legendary country music singer Willie Nelson revealed that while visiting President Jimmy Carter in the late 1970′s he smoked marijuana on the roof. There are also rumors that David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash once smoked in the Oval Office while Carter was President in 1977.  This is absurd…….

After turning down a potential plea deal because he insisted that an incident where he taped his roommate Tyler Clementi having sex with a man with his webcam had nothing to do with a bias against gays, Dharun Ravi who was facing up to 10 years will only spend 30 days in jail. If you don’t remember, back in 2010 Tyler Clementi jumped to his death off the George Washington Bridge after discovering Dharun had taped him with a webcam and watched the footage along with another girl before tweeting about it.

While reading the verdict the judge said he believed Dharun Ravi didn’t hate his gay roommate but he may have been biased and definitely acted insensitively.  Dharun Ravi will also be on probation for the next 3 years, pay the state $300 a month for 3 years and have to serve community service.

A New York surgeon named Dr. Emil Chynn is so determined to find a date he’s taken out an ad offering $10,000 to a charity of your choice if you can hook him up with someone good.  Here’s the ad he placed in Columbia University’s alumni magazine:

Emil says he’s too busy to visit bars and also has a very specific idea of the person he wants to be with and it’s been difficult to find a 30-year old, skinny, non-smoking white girl who’s intellectually curious.  From an ABC News piece about the love sick doctor:

The search started in earnest when he was an MBA student at NYU in 2004, and began spreading word among his classmates that he was ready to mingle. In what he calls “true business school fashion,” the other students began asking what was in it for them if they were to set him up. So he decided to make finding him dates worth their while, offering $100 per date for the first ten dates, $10,000 for an engagement, and $10,000 for a wedding (the two $10,000 payments were offered by his parents, who are “desperate” for him to get married).

Two years ago, he placed an ad looking for an assistant, offering whoever got the job a $10,000 bonus for finding him a wife. (That assistant also had a few other unusual responsibilities, including “back-walking,” that is, walking on his back as a form of massage.)
